Taking a Student into a Busy Class B (ORD)???

I know someone who went in to ORD about a year ago. Apparently the only time they allow touch and goes are around 2AM, which is what time he went.
Also, I think it depends greatly on the controllers that are working. I would call the tower and see.

I know someone who recently did a touch and go on runway 9R during mid afternoon. He also frequently flies into ORD at night. It's usually up to the controller if they will allow a touch and go. It's either that or a taxi back which usually doesn't take up much time

Technically, a student pilot can fly into a class B airport and can even do this solo if they want too as long as they have met the requirements listed in FAR 61.95 (although I prob wouldn't reccommend it)

(b) A student pilot may not operate an aircraft on a solo flight to, from, or at an airport located in class B airspace pursuant to 91.131 of this chapter unless:
1-Received ground and flight training @ specific airport
2- Instructor sign off for that specific airport, within 90 days of the solo

He's fine flying there with you, as you are the rated pilot that meets the qualifications.
Besides the opportunity to say "I did that," it's really nothing special, I've flown for 10yrs and I've been in there once.
If you want a challenge, and an airport that will let you in easy, just go to Midway when a huge arrival push is coming in. Prepare to land on 31L(My favorite side-walk.......er runway). Be prepared for anything.

One thing that ORD will ask is that you keep your speed up. Have your student practice holding 120 knots in the descent on final until 1 mile, then slow for landing. Practice this someplace other than ORD first, and not at a really short field.

I have a friend that frequently gets into ORD, recently during the middle of a day (saturday) but its in a seneca. These are my 2 thoughts
1. He catches them at the right time
2. The plane is a high use rental and is frequently buzzing all around CHI airspace, so controllers may get use to this call sign. However I feel it would be tough for them to remember the call sign with the volume of traffic at ORD. I just think its a local twin, and the controllers don't mind accommodating.

Also remember you're going to land "long" for a small plane, but as far as the controllers etc... they don't care, just get it down to the runway. If you can hold about 30-50' to bleed off the speed, just don't do it in ground effect or you will take too long, and maybe cause a go-around. Then you'll really be a problem and the controllers won't help you out.

Yeah that fact, and because you're not able to bleed your speed off like normal also. Do what it takes to clear the rwy quickly, but, don't drag it in at 65 kias either! That would be funny to see what happens to someone though, as long as I was a spectator not in the airplane.

I have gone into ORD with a student. It's harmless. Before I did it, I called someone at the tower on the telephone, and they told me to just come in anytime after 11 when it's dead. All I did was call up approach and get a VFR clearance into the Class B. It was easy, they were very accomidating. I got two patterns in and it was as easy as that. Go around 11:00 PM and you should be good. I talked to someone who had done it before and they went way later. I chose not to be up that late! Good luck, PM if you have any questions.
