Default Looking to get ATP in Northeast FL

All ATP (ATP Flight Schools) website states:
VA Benefits Unavailable
ATP’s flight training programs are ineligible for students’ VA benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill and the newer Post 9-11 GI Bill.

Does anyone know of any schools close to Jacksonville where the accept Post 9/11 to get ATP? I can't believe that All ATP won't approve VA benefits.

@ Lynn University in Boca Raton Florida, they offer an ATP class (which I am enrolled at this moment); we fly the DA-42. It lasts an entire semester, but the VA picks up 100% of the cost.

two questions, do they pick it up Up front? Also, can you major in something outside the school of aeronautics and get these ratings on the side but still from the school?

I just want to do a 2-3 day course. I'm coming from the military and did the Military Competency for everything else.

For you military folks, if you want a good deal ATP course and willing to travel to Boston, PM me for the details. Out the door with your ticket in one day at a very reasonable cost. It is not a VA course, but cheap enough to just pay cash. If no PM rights, my email is [email protected].

A fellow IP of mine did his ATP at Montgomery Field in San Diego last fall. Took about a week and the school fronted the cash. I imagine they are still operating the same way. He said it was painless as the school did all the work with the VA. If you want details of this school PM me.

ST. Charles Flying Service in St. Louis is a GREAT place to use your VA benefits. I recently got a multi/instrument add-on to my Commercial there, in 3 days, with no cost up front. Because I was a reservist and have less than 24 months on active duty after bootcamp/SOI, I was awarded 70% of the benefits under the post 9/11 GI Bill. At St. Charles Flying service, once I had taken the checkride, I wrote a check for the remaining 30% of the total cost of the training, including the checkride and examiner fee. If you have over 36 months on active duty post 9/11, the VA will cover the full cost of training up to $10,000.

I was highly impressed with this school, they've got their stuff together and should the opportunity present itself I will not hesitate to go back and do my ATP at St. Charles. Hope this helps some of you in the same positoon and thanks to all for your service.

sterlingflighttraining.com in Jacksonville, FL KCRG

We currently have a couple students using post-911 GI Bill for training.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the situation; however, no instructor signoff is required on an 8710 for an ATP checkride. Rent a Seminole and an MEI, shoot a couple approaches to ATP standards and go take the ride. Out under a grand. In fact, when I did this I took the ride with the FAA so bypassed the DPE fee. The other way to do it is go shoot three approaches in a C172 and get a single engine ATP, then do the ME as an add on. Yeah, I'm one of the few guys that's also got a single engine ATP, I'll admit. But that was in a 210!
