I've created a website called the Flight Instructor Wiki as a way to create and store lesson plans for instructors and their students.
When researching for my ground schools, I was often surprised by the complete lack of online presence of aviation-teaching material. CFI-Wiki.net aims to provide a solution. By taking the wikipedia-approach to building content, CFIs can work together to build ground schools and make minor edits as necessary to existing lessons, continually making them better and better.
This benefits both the instructors and students. The website is not a replacement for instructors, but a place to build better tools for each other to use and benefit from. I'm asking for help from interested instructors and students to work with me building the website and spreading the word. The website is just beginning, but I think you will be able to see the potential. Let me know what you think as well.

yes, and seaplanes and helicopters and airships, hi performance, tailwheels, etc...
I realize there's a lot to do still, but it's intended as a community-driven website. If everyone makes some small edit to improve it, over time it will be as comprehensive and high quality as wikipedia.
So feel free to start a multi engine section and start the growth!

Thanks, I have been putting a lot of time into this, and I think it's something that would help a lot of people. It's just so much work to do by myself, and I think having other instructors perspectives is a benefit as well.
We spend so many hours working on ground schools which is then mostly lost when we move on to other jobs. Imagine if that time could be preserved for others on this website and allow them to build upon that, instead of rewriting it for themselves.

I like this. I wood like to see this become a place where an assortment of graphics/learning aids could be located. Can't tell you how many times I've tried to explain/study something that a graphic I saw a few months ago somewhere could do perfectly and instantly.

Great idea. I wish this was available when starting out. There has been a lot of lessons that would benefit from videos as well. Is it an option to post a link to youtube videos? (Sorry I'm not a wiki tech guy)

Oh man, I need so much help. Please register and do whatever you think is useful to the site, even if it's just a few lines at a time. I have been focusing on making complete lessons, which seems like a daunting task, but I am trying to change focus to small updates and looser lesson plans which can then be expanded or reordered easier by other users.

Yeah no problemo, I just peeked a bit just now. For the maneuvers, just wanted to bounce the idea, for the preparation and configuration, I tend to use the "CERC" flow which makes it cleaner to transition into the maneuver and it tends to coincide with the AFM in regards to preparation.
Clearing Turns
Emergency Landing Point Selected
Reference Point Selected
Configuration (gumps, or CCGUMPS)
Let me know what you think!
Thanks!
