In 2007 Bob Bragg the co-pilot of the Pan Am 747 at Tenerife in 1977 did a presentation at the NTSB runway incursion forum. 30 years after the event one bullet point on his last slide read, "Anyone, no matter how well qualified can make serious mistakes"

Kudos for admitting it.

P.S. After a couple thousand hours of jet time I "dropped" a 604 in so hard in Lauderdale I thought I broke the china. Guy sitting next to me never said a word...why, I don't know.

Oh man, I feel your pain. I took a Baron full of self loading cargo out to Tulsa a few weeks ago. It just happened that the boss was on board and to top it off he had been bragging about my landings to his buddies. So of course I proceeded to put a nice dent in 36L. 100 landings or 100,000 we all plant one now and then!

18R in CLT, big ol runway.. Had it set up 25 mile final, calm winds, beautiful day. Captain and I had a landing contest going on comparing this airplane to the citation we had both flown in the past. Etc etc...

I planted that piece hard.. Haha I just started laughing and he goes "yeah we found it".

A couple of years ago I got checked out in a 172, just did 3 touch and goes with a CFI and was good to go (I had previous rental history at this place from years back). The next day, I came in for a full stop landing and blew the left main tire... Two long skid marks lead up to the tires - doh! That's what happens when you're an idiot that has been flying an airplane with anti-skid for too long! Funny thing is I had absolutely NO idea that I was pressing the brakes that firmly. Figured I was just lightly pressing them like I always did in a 172. I think I had at least 1,000 hours in a C172 at the time too, quite embarrassing!
