Default I'm the best pilot on this site

I've been towing gliders in an Ag Wagon (C-188) since early spring... have been making an average of 50 landings in it per week for the last 4 months or so. On my last landing of the day last weekend I came closer to ground looping than I ever have before in my 200+ hours of tail wheel time. Honestly, it was probably the worst landing I've made since I was a student pilot. Luckily I recovered, everything was fine, and the most important part, there were no witnesses.

The lesson is you're never good enough to not mess up. Fatigue and overconfidence were both factors I think.

Thats the truth, I don't trust a pilot who won't admit to a mistake. They are either a liar or are too stupid to realize they messed up.

Kudos to you for sharing! None of my own instructors ever shared any of their own mistakes with me either. Lost learning opportunities.......

Of course, we all know professional pilots are perfect lol!

It takes a true professional pilot to admit and own their mistakes and learn from them.

I tip my hat to you, sir. Glad it turned out alright and you learned something.

Cheers!

Never forget that a tail wheeled aircraft is never done flying until its turned off, parked and tied down!
Kudos for admitting that it can happen to the best of us!

I did half a ground loop in a 185F Skywagon once due to having the seat in a position where I couldn't reach the toe brakes. No damage fortunately but I learned my lesson.

I had my fresh PPL a few years ago when I came inches from taking out the runway lights at my home airport. Crosswind and overconfidence......scared the holy crap outta me. It's not if but when......hopefully my next F up won't be for awhile.
