Any of you guys know the difference between these two simulators?

From what I've seen, 142's can be set up as piston singles/light twins/ medium piston twins, and the 242's are designed to be more of a turbo-prop sim, like a King Air 90 or Piper Cheyenne.

Bellanca is right. Had both at old employer, which sat in dust after being replaced by Redbirds.

Looks like FlightSafety Academy uses 242s for the Seminole. I thought 142s were enough for the Seminole, any particular advantage in using 242s?

At my flight school the 142s were Seminole's and the 242 was an old King Air 200. Probably just more complex or greater capabilities?

242's had better twin sounds... could actually sync the engines. I think the 142 sound was based only on the left engine.

The 142 is more versatile regarding aircraft types, I thought the 242 was a better twin simulator.
