Civil Aviation Time Building
I have been doing alot of reseach on the new 1500 hundred hour rule and I am worried that short of being a US militarty pilot it is going to become almost impossible to attain the 1500 hours required for the ATP. It looks like other pilots out there are in the same boat. I was going to try to do the CFI but I found that I was only flying once a week. There are a few mapping compines that are flying in 172's one of my buddies is doing it but stays in his tent at night. He did find that in Pensacola FL there is a company that has dirt cheap time building that we are going to do this summer but the catch is that there must be two pilots in the plane at the same time. Is this the road most are taking now for the requirments?

It used to require 1500 hours (often 2500-3000) to get an airline job. Nobody looked at me until I had 1500 and several hundred ME.
Flight instruction is still probably the best bet. You options include traveling to find a job, or going freelance in order to build up a client base.
Be aware that a common flight school scam is to promise to hire all or most of their students as CFI's. They will fulfill this promise, but end up with so many CFI's on staff that you only fly once week, or once a month....
There are opportunities out there, you just have to get them. If you're only flying once a week, get a real job and CFI on the side...you can find more work as a weekend/evening freelancer. Save the money from said job to buy time if you need to to...152's are pretty cheap (although you'll need a chunk of ME time too).

Thanks for the info right now I am working at a resturant to subsidise my income. I think I am going to try and save and buy the flight time this summer I called that company in Pensacola and they will house for free that seems the best way to build my mult time
