Default Sacramento or Long Beach

I need an advice guys. I have 2 options left. Either Sacramento or Long beach.
1. Doing flying in skywalkinc and start degree program at CSUS or
2. Doing fling in long beach flight academy and start degree program at CSULB.

what is best? I'm really worrying about the cost. but considering both of above two options, what is worth?

If you're really worrying about the cost then why go through an expensive college program? Get your ratings at a mom and pop FBO and you'll save thousands. Just my two cents.

Sorry I forgot to mention that i'm going to do Commercial license at the flying school and then start degree program. Major is flying and going to do a computer science degree as second.

LGB is actually a great place to learn to fly. You will get comfortable with a relatively high density environment (nothing like the mid eighties though), experience Catalina island and Big Bear; all in all a very good training situation. You could also take the A&P course at Long Beach City College and transfer to CSULB to complete a Bachelors Degree. I would not recommend a degree in aviation... Plus you are close to the beach, plenty of housing options, and part time work if you want it.

Appreciate your comment. I'm not going to do an aviation degree. This is what I'm going to do. I have a PPL already. And gonna do CPL asap(a fast track) and start my computer science degree at one of above uni.s

Just wanted to give you advice on your last comment above. Don't do anything "fast track" unless you are expecting to start CFI'ing right away after you get your CPL. Since you're gonna be earning your degree on the side, I suggest you take your time with your ratings, so that the knowledge sticks to you over time rather than all at once, because you'll lose it just as fast as you gained it if you don't keep flying every single day.

In regards to the locations, I agree with the others, but I also caution you about cost of living. I started my IFR training in Long Beach, and it's a great place, HUGE airport (if you taxi from 25R to Signature you'll feel like you're taxiing at LAX because it takes forever to get to the FBO) but most importantly, the LA airspace is very complex and will get you top notch experience for your training, whereas Sacramento may not. I think it definitely helps your resume to have LA airspace in your first 250 hours.

With that being said, the cost of living in SoCal is pretty darn expensive, gas is expensive, and traffic sucks.

Hope this helped.

Be careful and do your research before committing to anything or anyplace long term...

I have NOT heard many good things about Skywalk and have met many who have been burnt by that place... So be careful..

In this profession, "the best" really does not matter that much...

My advise is to complete your Commercial part 61, unless you have a visa restrictions requiring you to go 141...

Cal-Aggie Farmers flying club in Davis is a much cheaper & better option for all ratings.. Non profit organization, nicely equipped aircraft, good maintenance, reasonable price for a/c & instructors.

http://www.calaggieflyers.com/ratesmembership.html

You can still join CSUS Sac or UC Davis for degree..

In Sacramento, your cost of living will be cheaper than LGB and still there are enough challenges for training environment in terms of airspace, terrain, weather etc etc...

Yup... skywalk dont have a good reputation. Try to stay away from them.

Do you your research and choose the right place carefully because you will spend a lot money.

Appreciate your comment but I can't go for a part 61 program. Because of visa visa restriction. It seems I will have to go to long beach option because skywalkinc is hearing bad.
