Ground reference manuevers in twin engine

Ground reference manuevers in twin engine
Hey everyone, I was just trying to get some insight on what to expect when doing ground refrence manuevers in a twin engine? specifically the Piper Seminole, I'm going to knock out my little time I need to get my MEI this week, and any flaws I may have since its been a while, and while looking in the PTS I seen some ground refrence manuevers. I've never did them in the Seminole, I would imagine that you have to be a bit more observant of everything.

If you already have your CFI, and are adding the MEI, then ground reference maneuvers are not required per the PTS. See the matrix "table" in the CFI PTS, which outlines what tasks (maneuvers) need to be demonstrated.

I took my MEI initial last week. I had to do a turn around a point, its not really all that hard, although I had little to no wind the day that I did it.
I just put the airplane into the cruise configuration, trimmed for level flight, and did the maneuver. It's about the only time you'll do a ground ref maneuver in a seminole lol.

@gpdballin, lol yea because I can't think of any other instance where you would do ground refrence manuvers in a seminole, or any twin engine aircraft, I did my first flight towards my MEI Monday, its been over a year since i've flown the Seminole and my steep turns were definitely trash, but thats what pratice is for. @TOGA9, The only CFI rating I got is my CFII for now. Im hoping to knock my MEI and CFI out within the next month so I can go somewhere and start flying. Im ready!!!

steep terns can be hard from the right seat. I didn't have any problems with them, but i know some who did.
where are you doing your training?
