ATP written B1900 W&B Question
I've been beating my head against the wall at some of these FAA questions. I gotta know what the deal with this one is... using the ASA test prep, ALL the Beech 1900 W&B questions leave out the flight crew weight, quite inexplicably to me. Below is an example question and explanation. The figures quite clearly show the crew as 340 lb @ FS 129. ***???
(Refer to Figures 4, 7, 9, 10, and 11.) What is the CG shift if the cargo in section F is moved to section A, and 200 pounds of the cargo in section G is added to the cargo in section B, under Loading Conditions BE-7?
Weight Moment/100
Basic Operating Wt. 9,005 25,934
Sec A - -
Sec B 400 1,020
Sec C 450 1,282.5
Sec D 600 1,890
Sec E 600 2,070
Sec F 600 2,250
Sec G 500 2,025
Sec H - -
Sec J - -
Sec K - -
Sec L - -
Fuel + 2,442 + 7,299
Total 14,597 43,770.5
CG change moving weight from F to A is: 600 x 150/14,597 = 6.2 inches forward
CG change moving weight from G to B is: 200 x 150/14,597 = 2.1 inches forward
Total change: 6.2 inches + 2.1 inches = 8.3 inches forward

Taking my test this Friday. Using Sheppard Air. Don't worry about 'understanding' the material. Just learn the answers and then hit the memory dump button in your brain after you finish the test.

I've gotta put in a plug for Sheppard Air as well. I've used them for two tests now (including ATP), and I recommend their materials and method to everyone.
D-15 until your opportunity to take the written under the current rules is over; you can't afford to not pass at this point. Sheppard Air's $75 test prep will be the best $$ you'll ever spend in aviation.

A third "shout-out" for Sheppard Air as well! They'll give you a "cheat sheet" that you can memorize. Once you start the test, use one of your blank sheets and fill it in like you memorized. It'll give you all the performance answers etc...at least that's how it was when I used them a few years ago. (Perhaps someone who's used them recently can give you updated info on that.) Either way ... Their product is top notch! Great stuff! Oh, and money back guarantee if you don't score about a certain % (if my memory serves me right)
