Default Overseas job search

I have lots of PIC and SIC time on ERJ, also a 747 type, but do not have 747 flying experience. Willing to be Based in middle east, Asia, or Europe. Which Airlines are my best bets as a US Citizen.

Good luck on a 74 gig. There are quite a few of us out here that have quite a few hours in the 74 as Capts and are having a hard time finding a job mainly because the classics are going away very quickly.
Head over to climbto350. there seems to be quite few active jobs for RJ drivers (if you have 500-1000PIC in type) and most are paying as much as 74 jobs.

Good post from Koru with some good ideas, but as an American citizen I still advise to stay away from U.S. contract agencies. Therefore GAP for KAL and HACS for Japan are probably not the best idea. Not that there is anything wrong with those agencies, but life is far simplier if you do not get a 1099 form from your employer. I would reccommend either Cambridge Communications ( very good reputation ) for KAL or PARC ( also good ) for Japan if you are a U.S. citizen.

I would avoid Rishworth based on their reputation.

All that said, as a 737 First Officer your options are limited. It's far easier to get a job as a captain on the foreign contracts. Others that hire first officers are Cathay Cargo, Viva Macau, Gulf Air, Air Arabia, China Airlines, EVA Airways, Jazeera Airways, Saudi Arabian, Saudi Aramco, as well as those mentioned by Koru. You might try to get a recurrent session in the CRJ and that could put you in a position to get a CRJ captain position somewhere like Arik in Nigeria as well as some of the Chinese operators.

“WASINC will give you the PIC type if you want to do the Shenzen 737 contract. give them a call and request to speak with Doug Ward or Dave Ross.” (maybe only for guys with 737 time???

Oh, and there's a Caravan instructor position paying $180? $240/year, or something like that. Based in Pakistan. Prefer if you speak Farzi. A little too much excitement for me, plus I'm average at languages and Farzi, I'm told, is VERY difficult.

Not to rain on your parade but I can tell you this.

India - If you don't have 100 PIC in type the DGCA will not recognize your type rating. I am not sure if this applies to corp airplanes or just to the airliners

China - CACC has suspended all license conversion and foreign medical applicants until the olympics are over.

Emirates - canceling interviews until further notice. (Mine was cancelled too)

I wrote my Chinese ATPL last week; in China.

They thought that the problem might be getting the work/residence visa secured over the Olympic period, but as I was in the Chinese consulate today dealing with some paperwork I figured I'd ask; apparently not a problem to get one at any time.

There are a number of Asian carriers that will hire you without a B744 type rating or any time on type. I know this because I've been hired by one. Some in Asia, Like Korean, want the rating, some don't, and some still fly classics. Jett8 was looking not too long ago for classic drivers to be Singapore based.

I'm not sure where you've been looking Dude, or who you've been speaking with, but you should try a few different places and you might come up with what you're looking for.

Good luck with it.
