Default life is a great adventure

you can go out and see some of this world and experience a new culture and see how other people live and work or you can hide in the USA. The world isn't all sunshine and lollipops. just try to do a little research before you go and know all the details.

Hope you like the smell of cury. as it eminates out their pores.
I guess you have never eaten anything else in your life except burgers and french fries @ Mc Donalds, and I wonder what eminates from your pores.I am an Indian and very proud to be one and I can list countless valid reasons for that.U.S.A. is supposed to be a First world country and also the richest country in the world and the whole world got see the mess after Katrina, dead bodies floating in the streets, hungry and desperate people abondened in the streets.Whenever I have a layover in Los Angeles and take a walk from my hotel I can see the streets under the bridges which have been turned into virtual toilets.Airlines in India pay a whole lot better compared to most of the U.S.carriers,atleast FOs in India are not makin poverty level wages unlike here in U.S.where a great majority of Pilots are eligible for food stamps.Whenever I am back in India and I get to meet my friends who are flying there,I am embaressed to mention my first world wages. Those of you who have never stepped out of your nests,go out and see the world,it is going to be a great experience.

Do your fellow Captains in US eat with there hands or they used a fork?I am an Indian and very proud to be one and I can list countless valid reasons for that.U.S.A. is supposed to be a First world country and also the richest country in the world and the whole world got see the mess after Katrina, dead bodies floating in the streets, hungry and desperate people abondened in the streets. Hey I saw the same in India, and with huge amounts of people living and dying under the bridge in Mumbai, Pune where I was based, at Calcutta WORST!!! and Bangalore Dehli Jaipur, etc.... Whenever I have a layover in Los Angeles and take a walk from my hotel I can see the streets under the bridges which have been turned into virtual toilets. People in India used the streets the as toilets!!!!!!!!Airlines in India pay a whole lot better compared to most of the U.S.carriers,atleast FOs in India are not makin poverty level wages unlike here in U.S. Indian aviation has the second largest amount of losses in the world. And the salaries are tax free, 9000 USD!!! Ask around most expats are bailing out. And most Indian pilots where looking to get some experience to hit the road!!!! 5000 usd is what they where paying in KiNG.
where a great majority of Pilots are eligible for food stamps.Whenever I am back in India and I get to meet my friends who are flying there,I am embaressed to mention my first world wages. The last time I remember, the USA is a Democratic country like India, if you don't like your job, stop criticizing you poor way of living, and get out!!!!!Those of you who have never stepped out of your nests,go out and see the world,it is going to be a great experience.[/quote]

I flew for Kingfisher for a year I have lived in India, Costa Rica, Peru, Jordan, and the US...India is great country, don't get me wrong, the US is simply great!!! There is no place like America.

Hey why don't you go there to Kingfisher or Indian Airlines, or Go Air?

You are trying to lecture one of the greatest civilisations in the world.Eating with your hands does not make someone less civilised or using a fork does not make you more civilised. And I am not the only one who critices poverty level wages here in US,its a whole bunch of American pilots who do the same aswell as that is a fact, now where are they supposed to go???There is no place like home for you its US and for people like me who eat with their hands it is India.

I have already made a huge mistake by quitting my nice cushy job @ Singapore Airlines and this time when I decide to go to Kingfisher,Indian Airlines or Go Air I will take my time but thanks for giving me all those multiple choices as I was not AWARE of them.

Indian aviation is suffering losses due to rapid expansion and as any person with some common sense would know that its hard to generate profits when you are expanding like crazy.Expats are bailing out because they know they will be booted out by 2010.

USA is like my second motherland,I have a great amount of respect for it but at the same time it has its positives and negatives just like any other country.

I have heard from Continental mainline guys that when you flew in on I believe they said a Tuesday, they use that day to cremate their dead so as you descent you get whiffs of burning flesh on your approach to Mumbai!

Tell those ignorant Continental Guys, that Hindus Cremate all week long and not just on Tuesdays.I am surprised they did not smell the burning flesh in Delhi but only in Mumbai,Continental does fly to Delhi on Tuesday.

Maybe they should tell their brilliant management to stop flying to India.

Talking Back to the Topic at hand!!!!!!

Well, flying experience in India is very/extremely bad! (For Starters)

Like some dude mentioned, people keep steppin' on each other (Very Freakin' True)
The controller keeps asking you your "DME" from the XYZ fix, Freaking Constantly! (Like its timed with each breath he/she takes)
Since, English is not their "Native Lingo" but the for some reason are considered or classified as "Native Speakers" is "Horrendous"
They for some reason also have a habit of vectoring you in the "Eye of a Thunderstorm"
They definitely for sure throw in, For Example, "You are 20 Track Miles" from touch down. (I already know how many track miles I am, bud)
Also in their part of the World they are not "Familiar" with "phonetically" telling you which fix to proceed or go direct to. They just mumble something & expect folks, not familiar with it, to just proceed to it. (By Correctly Guessing, I guess)
Frequencies tend to get pretty congested cuz people tend to talk a lot. (Cuz of Language issues)
You only get your Departure Clearance when you are taxing to the active R/Wy or busy doing your "Before T/O Checklist" & they (ATC) very conveniently rattle off a bunch of stuff w/o askin', if you ready to copy!
Also when you ask for "Push & Start" Clearance you have to mention "number of Pax on board & THROUGH SECURITY" Honestly, I don't know if they went thru security cuz I never saw 'em go thru. But, apparently, if you don't say it to be "legally correct" ATC insists on you saying "Thru Security"
Another "terminology" you will hear, quite frequently, in that region (& Middle East) is "Charlie Charlie" its their way of saying/acknowledging "Roger or Affirmative". ( I never use it)

All in all, its not a pleasant experience! (Over all)

Hope this helps!

Good Luck Bud!

Fly safe y'all!

Never ever hungry enough!

On a serious note, avoid non-bottled water and don't breathe the air and you will be fine.

India is the only country where a RJ Capt.or an ATR Capt.makes over $10,000,you are never gonna make that kind of money flying RJs in USA and you will be treated like an airline pilot should be teated with great deal of respect unlike in USA where every body is barkin @ you including TSA
