Readback,
Thanks for the info. I have a question, if you don't mind.
When filling out the application, did you really give them your spouse's, parents', in-laws', children's and sybling's passport numbers?
I think that's too much info, specially during the first stage of my application.
I might be willing to give that info once I'm offered employment.
Your thoughts(?)
Also, how long is the contract you have to sign for the type rating?
I guess that makes it 2 questions
Thanks again.

F/O's are also from other airlines. If they aren't typed in the a/c eg. 320, you better have jet time 744, 767, etc.
As of this writing, I have not met anyone who was recently hired with a majority of turboprop time.

I'm all for supplying requisite details, but can anyone hazard a guess as to why Qatar would like or need the passport numbers of my siblings and parents? The only thing I can conceive of is for travel benefit verification, which wouldn't really apply with an initial app.

I know a couple people that work there. As long as you are sending it directly to Qatar airways and not a recruiter, it shouldn't be a problem. That is strange they want your siblings passport and documents, but it maybe to make sure that they haven't been relieved from the airline. That is purely speculation, but I have seen people get disqualified because their uncle/brother got let go and then they won't hire you. This is not any policy that I am aware of, just purely speculation.
In other words, "Stay away from the 'black helicopters'"!
