Air Asia Interview Information
#31
He is not the first hired at Air Asia since I know a couple of guys that work there, yes they are US citizens and yes, they were living in the US at the time of the interview, both are captains though. Could this be that they are not hiring (or did not hire in the past) guys that are furloughed from a US airline? that would make more sense to me since there are US citizens working there.

Buddro,
Congrats, since you are the first US citizen to have been hired there. Want to confirm, that you were also living in the US at the time as well? And no dual citzenship? Are you single? Looking to see what made you the exception. The friend that i know that did not pass, actually hung out with the SV of Flight Ops for the entire time of the interview, and stayed next door. He did well but got the feedback on why. No US citizens. I just fired off an email and the latest states, Air Asia is loosening up their stance because other contracts are starting to pay alot more and opening up to commuting possibilities, so Air Asia is getting minimal qualfiied apps. Buddro, how long ago did you get hired? If you were living in the US at the time of interview, with no Dual citizenship and are married, this would be a major change for Air Asia hiring.

The market is definately turning in our favor!
Best of luck!

Which parts is it that you do not understand?????
They do hire born and bred "pure" white Americans! Not dual citizens but ALL Americans!
I know this for a fact!!!!!!!
Why is it so difficult to admit that your info was incorrect? Unless you've failed the selection process

This is a new development. Prior to June 2010, i know for a fact no American got hired there; straight from an Air Asia VP's mouth. Where do you get off needing to hear someone is wrong, big fella?!. I'm trying to clarify why an American got hired. Up thru summer of 2010, i saved many people the anguish of spending their valuable time and money going down to Kuala Lumpur to get denied with no fair chance. Those that didn't listen, which is a long slew of people, all came back denied. I didn't waste my time trying and i would have had strong connections Spring of 2010. I know of plenty of people that got hired and are still working there under their awful training bond. But if you are willing to go, it's only worth it, to get that PIC, break the contract, and get hired on with big pay out of China.
For info purposes, Buddro, Can you tell me when you were hired? And were you living in the US at the time? Married? The reason why these questions are so important is that, these were the cited reasons by corporate on why they didn't hire Americans with a proven track history of that until last year, at a minimum. If Buddro got hired this year, then they are loosening their demands, because of a lack of pilots. China is changing the landscape for all contracts. Each month, there is a revised contract improving pay, adding commuting, and so on. Air Asia has to loosen up, as well.

Iluvetops,
You aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer. Why would i disclose who the person is. Let's just say, he's higher than your "so called friend", guaranteed. There is not ONE pilot on the line, that has ever been an American before Spring of 2010. Buddro might be the only exception, but i don't think so because the current list doesn't show anyone. That's all i can say. Do you get that Iluvetops?! Even if i was somehow wrong, then their hiring percentage for Americans is less than 1/10th of 1%. Oh yeah, they sure do hire Americans! I'm all for supporting a vacancy, if it's possible. I have pretty good gouge for just about every airline out there, whether if it's critical of an airline or not, it is usually right. When one person happens to find only one exception out of a million examples, then the generalization is pretty darn accurate. Adios

Urge...
No need to go into any contest here with you! Buddro is not the only one...and a buddy of mine in AK is in a very high position..
Btw, why do I need to be the sharpest knife in the drawer? I don't have to prove anything to you mate.

Regarding the absolutely incorrect posts from, "Urge" - he is 100% wrong. Had I actually taken to heart the things that he said in his previous posts that I came across while preparing for my interview with Air Asia, then I simply would have abandoned the idea and never gone. I ignored his comments, went to my interview in early August, and 12 days later I was notified that I was successful. I am now awaiting only my work permit approval and start date. I am 100% American, married, and yes lived in the states. I am not sure why anyone would ever say the things that were said in, "Urge's" posts, as they are blatantly untrue and no matter what the reason for posting them - it was wrong.
