I just finished my app. Where is the 30 Ton limit stated? And a buddy told me that the limit is no longer. Just trying to get the story especially with all those new planes coming!!

My mistake. It looks like it's actually 35 tonnes. This page was updated in August, but maybe the requirement is dropped now. See the section titled Emirates jobs requirements.

Emirates jobs, payscales and entry requirements.

That's wrong, it is 30 tonnes and has been for a long time now. It is an unofficial requirement so it's not published. It'll stay that way until they can't get enough guys with that time then it will get lowered. So if someone doesn't have it, still apply so that the recruiting department has the statistics to take up to senior management to say, " hey, if you lower it to 10 tonnes we can get all the guys we want ".

Not to discourage anyone , but courses are filled until Mar12 and recruiting is going to slow slightly as there is plenty of CV's coming in from Europe with 320/73ng background. They want to keep things filled up 3 months in advance as the EU LCC require 3 months notice. Right from AS a couple days ago.

A friendly piece of advice for Emirates applicants.

Do not under any circumstances write that you have an alcohol related offense on your application. It will disqualify you for employment. Even if it was 10 or 20 years ago and you haven't had a drink since. It doesn't matter, this is the company policy.

Emirates is a foreign airline. They do not check. It's a case of don't tell, because they won't ask and they won't check.

That is information straight from the recruiting department actually.

So to to confirm:
1. Are they firm on the 4000 hrs?
2. Is the ATP a must to apply?

1. Yes, unless you have 2500Hrs in a A320 or Boeing 737 type airplane (This might or might not also include Embraer 190-size similar airplanes but it definitely excludes smaller RJ's). The only sure way to find out is to apply and get shortlisted.

2. Yes

Hope this helps?

They will call you when they have an interview spot for you. Being shortlisted just means that you qualify. Usually people are shortlisted a month or two before they get called.

There's a reason why they don't publish phone numbers...

As for what qualifies for aircraft time. My former roommate (who has a class date scheduled) was told CRJ 700/900 hours count but not 200. Nice for the RJ drivers.
