If you take the allowance you get the full amount, if you come in under budget you keep the balance. Be careful though, rents have risen a lot over the last year so if the landlord chooses to raise it over the allowance you cover the difference. I have been in company accommodation since I joined, less headaches for me, to each his own though.

Default Recent EY Interview Experience

Hey gang just got back from my interview.Very good experience..Day 1 a total of 26 candidates all types of experience. No company overview presentation. We started immediately with sim and testing evaluation. In regards to the testing,if you are typed in the Airbus or Boeing that EY flies expect specific technical questions regarding the specific aircraft. If you have neither expect a General Knowledge Test. You have 50 questions and 45 mins to complete. In regards to the sim eval again aircraft specific. For me evaluation was in a T7 sim.It consisted of a normal TO with a visual pattern back to the departing runway.Five hundred feet you are forced to Go Around just perform your normal company procedures they've seen them all.You are allowed the AP at that time and instructed to track a radial.Once tracking you are asked how to enter a hold and what entry would you use.If answered correctly you depart the radial on radar vectors to the ILS and given an inflight emergency. They want to see your CRM skills including emergency awareness.Prior to LOC intercept you must disconnect the AP and hand fly raw data ILS to touchdown. At the end of the day they gather all together. If you're name is called sorry you go home...

Day 2 CRM group excercise. You are given as a group a task.Ours was to build a tunnel. You have 25 mins. They don't expect ypu to complete the task just demonstrate teamwork and again CRM skills. My group actually completed our task and they took pics of us next to our project.Next was Formal interview. It consist of technical questions and the usual TMAAT.Study ETOPS RVSM Low Vis OPS CAT II CAT III requirements,RVSM diversion procedures, and if you're typed expect technical questions, and results from your Hogan Assesment. Also the math reasoning and IQ tests. At the end gathered again. If you're name is called well you know.

Day 3 Medical you must fast 12 hrs before you show so plan to be hungry. It's an all day affair with the usual testing EKG Chest Xray Blood work Urine sample Eye testing and hearing. Also spirometryevaluation. If you've made it to the medical you are just about hired.

I made it through and was told to expect and July class date either T7
or maybe Dreamliner because nobody bid the airplane on the FO side.Upgrade is about 2 years maybe 3.Great company had a fantastic experience and met some fantastic people...Good luck to all who apply...

Great job! Curious about the line related to nobody internally bidding the 787 on the FO side. Are senior narrowbody FOs just bidding the T7 and the A330/40 or just upgrading to Captain on the A320? I guess with 70-80 787s on order I would expect more interest.

When is the first 787 expected on property?

Thanx there are 2 787's on the property and 20 pilots to crew them. You're right nobody on the property is bidding the Dreamliner,so off the street folks will probably be assigned.Senior T7 FO are just sliding to the left seat as of two weeks ago.Not sure about the Airbus side,,,,

There are currently no 787 "on the property" and no one is type rated... yet.

Final assembly of the first 787 at Boeing doesn't begin until later this summer.

Plenty of airbus pilots want to bid for it, however that has not been offered... yet. It was current T7 pilots who turned their noses up at it (more for lifestyle/career progression reasons than airplane design)

Caution disseminating false information.
