I heard there is a bit of a holding pool right now and people who came in for assessments and accepted as far as six months ago have not been given start dates yet. If anyone knows anything different please share.
Why would they continue doing assessments if they don't need people to join at the moment?

They might need to hire again soon. Dunno about the alitalia and air serbia guys, but the air berlin guys have a three year contract after which they can return to air berlin with no loss of seniority. Apparently quite a lot of them consider doing that which is cause of some concern for etihad apparently. The first contracts are up soon.

How is the working prospect and condition at EY actually? Is it better than the other ME carriers? Lots of info regarding EK and QR from here as well as PPRUNE but nothing much talking about EY.... Any EY pilots out here who can share their first hand experience?
Really much appreciated.... thanks

It would be interesting to hear first-hand from the returning Air Berlin pilots their impressions of the pros/cons of EY. And to what extent the issues were related to environment (i.e., Abu Dhabi living) or flying/schedule (i.e., flight fatigue like what you hear about at EK).
Would love to strap-on one of those pretty 787-9s....

Thank You BusDriver,
Yes I've read that article online. However, I heard there are a lot of successful candidates in the holding pool with no idea of a rough start date. Do you have any info if I apply today for the NTR 777 F/O position, how long will it take to get an offer once I pass everything?
Thanks

I can ask around, I'm on 787 now so am not working very hard as deliveries are backed up so we have a surplus of pilots on that fleet, I've heard the 77 is very short but have no details on hiring.

Good day,
FYI I passed the assessment in April and shortly thereafter received an email from recruitment that I was put in the holding pool for the maximum period of 1 year! If not employed by EY by then my assessment will expire!!!
Several colleagues whom passed the assessment way before me also received this email.Heard that at the moment EY is very short on TRI/TRE and the candidates who are qualified as such will have priority!
Time will tell...
Good luck to you all!
