Worst pilot group overall, that I have ever flown with, was at NJA.
In the 2.5 years at my current job, I have flown with maybe 1 or 2 that I would consider putting on the do not fly list. At NJA, it was easily a 50/50 shot on whether to not you would fly with a complete and total wack job or weirdo. And I am not picky, I don't care (nor do I bring up) about political views, sexual orientation, or religious views. So to really bug me out you gotta be real weird.
Problem is, the majority of NJA pilots were hired when the airlines were furloughing, so they took all comers. That included people that couldn't pass an airline interview, scabs, and airline furloughs/layoffs. That demographic makes up at least 60% of the pilot group, and a lot never returned/couldn't return to an airline job. Not to say that there aren't weirdos at the airlines, or that only weirdos are attracted to fractional jobs, but there is a common theme. Flex/Flops guys prove that time and time again. Every time I met a long time Flops pilot I wanted to take a shower after, they were so odd, all of them.
NetJets was the first job where I met pilots who were flat earthers. I didn't think a pilot could earn an ATP, and fly long distances, yet completely ignore math, science, and provable fact, but they exist. From staunch racism, fringe extreme political views, odd behavior, guys carrying binders around to show how many law suits they have against the company, people trying to convince you that there are aliens living underground etc. I had never really experienced any of that before NJA.
That being said I met some truly amazing people there and had unforgettably positive tours with them, and I am proud to call them friends to this day. But percentage wise, the number of wackos at NJA was far higher than any other job I had prior, and since.

You had to be G200...I can put names to most of these people.
But no it was not the Cuban Nightmare that was involved in the fight. Not that he wouldn’t push ones buttons but he was too busy hitting wingtips on landing, two different times, and also turning left out of SMO while the FO was screaming RIGHT TURN!

Why because I backed up what somebody else said about there being weirdos that work at NetJets? I also said I flew with some great crews.
I would say you’re the piece of work “brother”. You spend a lot of time trying to convince former NJA pilots that work for companies like SWA, how much worse SWA is than NJA when you’ve never worked there. Par for the course I suppose...

OhSnap....you are exactly why people look at pilots with a weird eye. Arrogance and dbaggery are in your DNA. After very little research, I found out who you are and let me be quite clear, your departure was quite welcome. Now, I cannot understand why you spend so much time on a forum about NJA when you have openly and consistently demeaned every pilot working there. You’re a sad little troll. I am seriously concerned about your current mental status.

Up until the 2005 contract NJA had a starting salary of $27K/yr. Not a lot of takers. I went to a job fair Jerry and Derinda were at and they looked like the Maytag repair people, I wouldn't have been surprised to see cobwebs on their recruiting booth. So they hired some less than optimum people during that time (I was ex-military pilot, ex-major airline and held an MBA degree so they really liked me LOL). My class had mostly good people, only training problems were from a guy who had only flown single pilot in Citations, he had trouble adjusting to our SOP's. We had 2 with no jet time, just turboprop and both did fine.
I have not encountered that many "oddballs". A few, like the guy who thought all processed food was poison and lived alone on a farm in New Hampshire I think it was. I also flew with an extreme A-Teamer who was always calling scheduling during stopovers to get more flying on his days off. Of course he didn't believe there was such a thing as "A-Teamers". And some "Felix" type neat freaks who could spot a speck of dust at 100 yards. And I had a couple that would sell their mothers into slavery to get ahead with a management job. But 99% were fine, I probably saw less than 10 pilots total in the above descriptions.

I won't deny we have our share of weirdos, but I think that its just that we had the same weirdos everywhere before, but nobody talked that stuff out like we do today. Social media has armed everyone with the idea that they can always run their suck on every subject all they want, and so we hear it more than we used to.
What I will say though is that I have only had maybe 3 times in 14 years at NJA where I had to "get ugly" with a crewmate over a safety or legal issue. When I was at the airlines it was a little more frequent to have a "shut up and let's do "X" and discuss it later" moment.
Yeah we have a fair amount of nuts, but I've never flown with a safer bunch, as a whole. I think that's because we are led to have to be that way because other departments set us up for failure enough that we all have a "healthy paranoia" and are really on our own a lot of the time....nobody holds our hand. As much as I am looking to go elsewhere, that is still one thing I like is the autonomy. But I'll trade it for better QOL on the road....and no, iPhone gadgetry and apps are not improvements to QOL.

By the way, if it was 50/50 pilots you would put on the “list”, did you ever once consider it might have been you? I am thinking you never considered it considering the tone of your post. Knowing what I know now about who you are, I think you over estimate your ability to coexist in the tight quarters of a cockpit. Like your ex says “It’s not you, it’s me” knowing full well it really is you.
Do we have some DB’s here, there is no doubt. Every professional flying organization I have been involved with from the military and beyond has had its share of clowns. Life is the same. If you think you will not find that rough in the diamond, your drug test is overdue. It is abundantly clear by your post here that you suffer from a bit of narcissistic tendencies which ironically mask some pretty serious personal insecurities. If you need some professional help, please get it. Seriously. You do not have live with this anger and these other issues.
I am sure you will come back with some witty response (like the one posted above to 727C47, who is a solid dude). My recommendation, just stick to your new gig where your talents will shine. Your continued presence here will only reenforce my concern about your mental state. There really is nothing more you can add here.
Good luck!
