There is a lav that when it is being used shuts off the cockpit from the cabin and the cabin from the cockpit. It ends up going into a bucke that has to be dumped when we land.

Pain in the ass to dump? Don't be the guy that has to use it?

I have asked on another thread but this one seems more active. I wouls like to hear more about experiences with Planesense. I have an offer for ExpressJet, Boutique, and Tradewind. I am not sure I am a 121 guy and eventually I would like to get a day trip type job but I will have to suck up some discomfort to get some experience. I am in Southern VA and no matter where I go I will have to commute. I just got invited to interview for Planesense. It seems like the most appealing option to me, but I am going to ask about creating a reporting base at RDU. I am right between Charlotte, NC and Richmond, VA, and they are both JUST outside the call out window.

I like the idea of the 7/7 schedule. That could be nice, but I am not sure if that is available still or to new people. I have 135 PIC mins and wonder if I would be hired as an FO or PIC. If hired as an FO, how long would it take to be offered upgrade? Do you find that most days on duty are actually away or out of 7 or 8 days would you typically fly X number of days?

Just so we're all clear, 7/7 is not back, afaik it's offered to Portsmouth based pc12 captains during the summer months. Only offered last summer. Again this is afaik.

Restocking catering: not even a thing. Once in a blue moon some kids or adult sized children will ransack it but it's mostly just replacing the odd bag of chips or a few waters once or twice a day. No one's ever complained about JUST catering, if you catch my drift.

Health insurance could be done better but since it changes every couple years, just wait and see. The family plan is expensive IMO. But again, not a huge deal. The money / hotel points / etc... benefits and ot "schemes" are pretty lucrative.

For those still wondering, day one was a day trip, day two airlining to Florida with some Bahamas back and forth for the next few days. It's cold and snowy up here so...yay.

Scubadiver
The only day trips are out of PSM and they are normally for crews doing OT. My last rotation I airlined to PSM for a check ride on Day 1. Day 2 I airlined to FL to get the airplane. Day 3-8 was flying with Day 8 being 2 legs with 4 hours of flying followed by a 4 hour rental car drive to my base. I flew with 2 FOs that rotation. The 1st was home standby Day 1, airlined Day 2, flew Day 3-7, and airlined Day 8. The 2nd did a 3 hour rental car drive followed by 4 hours of flying on his Day 1 (my Day 8)
