Anyone hear of PS FO's or CAs skipping regionals for lets say JB, SWA, or Spirit? I know some multi time would be needed before making that jump. If airlines are the end goal, would you still need to sit at a regional before moving on to a major? Just wondering if anyone has heard of someone progressing to a major from the single engine turbine and maybe their background/experience/multi time required. I know every case is different, curious to know if its possible. Thanks in advance.

Normal line pilots or is it still mostly instructors/previous 121 pilots? Happy for all of them either way!

I can’t remember what they required. I think it was just an ATP. I had 270 hours in King Airs when I was hired.

Can anyone tell me how rigid they are with living within the 100 miles from your gateway city? I know someone that lives about 4 hours from ATL and could move to ATL if they had to, but prefer not to.

They are rigid and for good reason. There is ample evidence to suggest that however well intentioned the prospective employee is, the enthusiasm for commuting wanes within six months and then tends to completely evaporate within 18 months.

Within the Planesense alumni are countless examples of pilots who just couldn't handle the commute despite how much they may have liked the job.

I will tell you that even living within a gateway city, 20 mins from the airport, the shortest commuting day I've had is 8 hours and often it is much longer. Add a four hour drive to that, 4 times a month... I'm not saying its not doable, but from the company's perspective they do not see an employee that will stick around for the long haul. When they are investing approximately 3 months and $20k+ on your training, they expect you to stick around for at least 18 months (hence the contract).

Good luck!

Default PlaneSense PC-12 CA upgrade time

Hello, PlaneSense crew...

Just wondering what the typical SIC to captain upgrade time is these days in the PC-12. I have 115 hours (single pilot) in the PC-12, but it’s been a few years since I’ve flown airplanes. I’m a helicopter pilot, but I do have 1000 airplane and an ATP.

If you are a higher time SIC, is it possible to upgrade in as little as six months? Or is it pretty much the standard one year across the board? Thanks!

If your total time is 2000 you can apply for direct entry.
