I think in this context he was referring to Republic, was he not?

Correct. Thats why I was asking why would he want to come to PS if he wanted to step up his career?

Flying a Pilatus PC-12 would be a step up in a different direction as compared to flying for Republic. I have always liked the PC-12 and would like a chance to fly it and be paid a decent salary. If I wanted to make the majors my life time goal, then Republic would be a better choice for me. I was based in SYR and couldn't stand it so I left. I haven't updated my Avitar, looks like if Republic hires me it will say Q-400.

When we switched to the 8 on 6 off schedule, after taxes, including per diem I was bringing home $38K as a an FO. The pay isn't terrible but the 8 and 6 is not very desireable in my opinion.

I'd have to agree with you there, would be a change in living to adapt too indeed.

PlaneSense will be hiring more First Officers starting Jan 2014. Theyre not going to be picking only those that live in New England. DO said PSM or PDK and as many as he can get. Good luck to those interested.

I read on the first couple pages the FO time is pretty useless. Is that still the case or is it able to be logged now? Also what is the upgrade time?

Thanks!

It is not useless and can, indeed, be logged. Typically, FOs will fly the empty Part 91 legs, and log 61.51 PIC. Live legs, the SIC is required by 135 or 91K and thus SIC is logged.

Depending on your career goals, there are definitely better stepping stone jobs out there, but all in all it is a decent company.

Back in 2011-2012 upgrade was around a year, I don't know what it is right now. They seem to be gaining a net 2 or 3 airplanes a year, so upgrade is based on growth and attrition. That said, upgrade is also merit/performance based, not seniority. You will need ATP minimums, and a few letters of recommendation from captains you have flown with.

Thank you! Any other tips you could suggest for the interview or even for a new-hire?

I was at Planesense for over 5 years, and I had a great experience there. I can't give any good interview advice, though, cause I'm sure they process has changed since I went through.
