I saw on Twitter that a class started in early February. Does anyone know when the next class will be and how many more are planned this year? I applied over the weekend and am really hoping to hear back. I have 850hrs and CFI-I. Is that even remotely competitive right now?

Last that I heard is that they are planning one class a month. With 850 hours and a CFII you appear to be competitive.

What does the training contact look like? Is it void after upgrade?

It is written as a loan that is paid off by reducing the amount owed for every month that you work. It is not voided when you upgrade but neither is it extended nor is there a new one for upgrade. Basically they are trying to make sure that new hires stay more than a few months so normally the contract is a non-issue.

Default Direct Entry Captain

What experience is needed to be competitive for DEC above minimums? Is 91k/135 required? If meeting the DEC minimums and hired, do you work as a FO for a length of time (hours) before flying as a captain?

Thanks for the info.

Not sure what they consider competitive, but you'll do initial training as an FO, finish IOE, then roll back into class for CA and knock out that training. If you go straight through, including cycles for IOE as FO and CA, it'll take close to 3 mos; unless they've changed some things. Good luck.

The only change is after FO IOE you will do 2-3 more rotations as FO before Capt training. However as DEC you are paid as a Capt from day one of training.

Default FO Aplication

I applied on February 24th and I fall under the highly qualified applicant category with over 1,000TT and a CFII. Has anyone applied in the last month and heard back or had an interview scheduled?
