Doc flyer had a pretty good response. We've had pilots with relatives near base and it has worked out fine. A true crash pad wouldn't really work out well, at least in the interview portion. That depends on how you interview of course and whether you get invited to the interview if you do live well outside their desired radius. At the day of the day this really isn't a company for a commuter.

Hey everyone, just joined the forums. I have a Feb class date at planesense. Currently living in the northeast but not within 100 miles of PSM and like Florida so will be moving to the MCO base. Anyone based down there? Do you usually go out of MCO with a plane or get airline/rental car to an airplane? Also what are the limits for crew luggage size if any?

I am not MCO based, but you will almost certainly airline or rental car to a plane. Limits for crew luggage are standard airline limits for carry ons, same size, same number.

Thanks! What kind of things should I expect in training? I assume the ground school and test at the end will cover part 135 regs, op specs, etc. What do you do in the sim training and checkride besides IFR flying/approaches, emergency stuff, etc? Any commercial VFR maneuvers? I'm just wondering what kind of stuff I should be expecting to have to do, so I can bone up on some of the stuff I might not have done for a while before starting training.
