QOL at Citation Shares
Does anyone want to weigh-in on the QOL at Citation Shares? Their scheduling seem similar to NetJets. How does the company treat you and do they hassle dudes over Reserve/Guard time or are they pretty flexible? Just wondering...

I'm just a new hire, but the pilot/management relationship seems very good. They have people return to the company after trying other things. They also seem to care about their pilots. They gave a guy I know three weeks off (paid) when he had a family emergency. They also rearranged my initial training schedule and assigned airplane when I told them I had a wedding I was in and needed to attend.

As another recent hire, I have nothing but good things to say about how the company has treated me. It started when I had a tight window to meet for when to start employment and they worked with me to make it happen. they also honored requests for travel to/from home airport, plus overtime. Overall, I'm very happy.

Do any of the former mil guys have reserve jobs or are you strictly with the company? I ask, since I am a reservist in a new plane, and they will want me to upgrade w/in the next year. I was trying to get a feel for how they would react if I asked for 2-3 months of mil leave to upgrade in the reserve.

I asked that question at indoc and was satisfied with the answer of balancing both schedules. I asked that about someone going to UPT after being hired, and the impression was for them to get some use out of the person before they took a year and a half leave of absence. As far as taking months away for upgrade, I would try to delay the class until you have at least a few months of work time in. They do spend $$$ for the type and wouldn't want to have to send you back for recurrent without any real return for their investment as a new hire. I also hear of an A-10 guy who just returned after a long absence.
Bottom line is that you will NOT be paid during those months. (someone correct me if I'm wrong on that)
Hey Faipsrule, where are you a reservist?
