CS pilot demoted over paper work issues?

Interesting thread. My comment is that someday soon technology and information will totally change the way we fly. I understand that unions protect pilot salaries while management is trying to cut costs, but don't forget that the air force and other services are becoming very effective at using unmanned aircraft No one, not even pilots, have a right to a job, but the owner of a company has a vested interest in making money (otherwise, why start/own a business?) For now, owners can't operate without pilots, and there's a supply v. demand issue there, so they'll keep hiring and paying whatever they can negotiate with the pilot unions.
If you're just flying for the pay, then make sure you have a savings plan for when the robots arrive. On the other hand, if you love flying, then fly while you can, but have a savings plan for when the robots arrive.
I assure you, no robot will want SevereClear's current job (based on his posts) and the Robot Union will protect the robots from being forced to.

Union this, Union that...you people make me sick.
When did you wake up one day and decide that you'd want a "representative" to "represent" you? Here's an idea: Go knock on someone's door and have a civil conversation. Or can't you speak for yourself?
But, hey - go ahead and hide behind the yoke...that'll get a lot accomplished.
You people have no clue how good you have it. You get to wake up in the morning, be around aircraft all day (even if it is at the FBO on standby) and then you get to fly at FL410 with the best view in the house.
Go work in an office for a day with no windows.
There are people in this world that will never have the opportunity to do what you're doing. None of them will ever be able to flip through their logbooks one day and remember all the great places that YOU HAVE BEEN! You travel the region, the country, the world...some never get to leave their hometown's backyard.
Being a pilot used to be - and still is - a very honorable profession. Nobody forced you into this field...you CHOSE it because at one point you loved it.
Some of you CLEARLY don't.

Gentlemen,
Has there ever been a perfect job? I don't know of any pilot who starting flying solely for the money. The truth is no matter what people are doing for a living they are going to complain about something. It's funny, my brother is a VP in a large company, makes over 200k, and to hear him he is overworked and underpaid.
Question- if you had a flying job, very secure, making 100k, home 90% of the time, flying maybe 150 hrs annually, and able to retire at age 50, would you *****?
Remember if the grass is greener on the otherside it's probably astrotuff.

Wow! Well said. A very rare kind of post indeed. I love browsing through these forums and reading about how it is to be a pro-pilot as I am still in college struggling to get it done. I am right now at an office cubicle with no windows. I am not saying I hate this job, but I would so much love to hang out in an airport!!!
