7 and 7 is required to be an option for up to 90 percent of the pilots. The 18 day fixed schedule will be mandatory for newhire, upgrade, and transition training and voluntary beyond that- for up to 40 percent of the pilots. The 15 day flex can be junior assigned and will be kept at 10 percent. Many are very afraid of getting junior assigned to do this schedule, but negotiators have given the opinion that the schedule will probably go fairly senior since it pays a premium, limits tours to 5 day max without voluntary extentions that will probably be fairly easy to get if wanted, and they also think that the average pilot on this schedule will work less than the 15 day max per month.
