Default NetJets IBB Roadshow Feedback

Hi!

For anyone that's been to a roadshow, we'd appreciate any feedback.

Thanx!

I'd imagine the roadshows aren't going to reveal any big surprises or add anything big to the news about the proposal. The road shows are mainly a way for the pilots to understand the proposal better without inaccurate information clouding the picture. There has been a lot of inaccurate info on the ibt message board (mostly corrected eventually) and in the rumor mills that these shows will hopefully help to correct so that all involved can cast their vote with a well-informed understanding of how the proposal will affect them and the pilot group in general. I am hoping to attend one of the road shows soon and I'll post any big revelations, but I honestly don't think there will be any big news that isn't out already.

I think you're right. It's probably going to be a lot like the road shows for the 2005 contract. A slide presentation and then answering questions and spending a lot of time clearing up a lot of misinterpretations. No revelations, no special announcements, just a lot of Q and A, which was helpful.

I swear some of our pilots are at a fifth grade reading level because that is the only way I can explain how they come up with some of their interpretations of the IBB stuff. My other favorite is the guys that don't even bother to read the contract proposal, they just get their info from other grossly misinformed pilots and then accept it as fact, rather than actually seeking out the info themselves by reading what's in front of them.

read it frontwards and backwards, 2 reads. Still can't get over lenght of the contract. More than likely this will be a contract we live with till 2018!!

We went thru the same deal when the company was trying to sell us on doing a large charter op back at ACA/Indy. Official bullet points and summary guides are best for most folks, though sometimes the devil is in the details. Good luck and if anyone could post a sense of the room at one of these events, it would be interesting. They might, on the other hand, rather you all keep the sentiment within the group. I'd understand that.

IBB will pass and the contract will become ammendable in 2013 because section 30 requirements will not be met so don't worry too much about the length of contract.

section 30 req. are easy i'm affraid. just 10 bases need to be open, and 85% int'l flying of us owners. I think RTS will want to save his money and not fight the single carier lawsuit in court witch is a slam dunk

I attended one of the road shows this week and they ended up skipping the Power Point show (we voted it down since they said it would take an hour and a half) and they did a quick oral summary before opening it to questions. Then after a couple of hours of clarifications they broke it up and let anyone with additional questions ask face to face to get everything answered a little quicker. They did ask for a show of hands for those who thought they would vote yes and it was probably around 80 percent. I talked to a couple of guys who were leaning towards no before and then changed their tune after the questions were answered.

RTS is already fighting the single carrier and it is NOT a slam-dunk. The company has spent a lot of time, money, and effort bricking up the wall of separation and I don't expect any change in the status of the pilot group for at least another three years.

Just saying it or thinking it or wishing it will not make it so. Of course the 1108 leadership is telling you it's a slam-dunk. They want the membership to concentrate on the other elements of the IBB because it is a good deal overall for the group. Section 30 is only an option and I don't see it happening.

Not saying it CAN'T happen especially if "She" gets elected and appoints a new, more labor-friendly NMB (new appointments to the NMB are common right after a change in party control of the White House). I just don't think it's likely to be resolved any time soon.
