I'd rather it wouldn't happen, but nobody asks me LOL

Not even close.

The top 50% were hired prior to 2002. By 2013 they will all be beyond the 11 year mark.

There are approx 500 (junior) domicile pilots and 2100+ who already have HBA rights.

There are 500+ pilots who will hit the 14 year mark by the end of the contract.

The junior pilots are far from the majority.

Are Continental and Continental Express a single carrier? Didn't think so.

Let's review: Separate operating certificates, separate companies incorporated in different states, separate management teams from President of the company on down, separate scheduling, dispatch, finance and HR departments, different uniforms, different ID badges......and every day another brick is put in the wall. They are serious about keeping them separate.

The case will be filed and it'll be up to the NMB to decide sometime in '09.

As for me, I would actually go from 30% of the NJI seniority list to 17% of the merged list with a fenced seat and a 20K raise from the NJA overtime policies so I'm not really worried if it does happen. I'd just rather not have to deal with some of the fallout.

Im with you Gwiz, the fallout, would be harsh, don't want it to happen if forced, would rather it happen the right way or not at all.

As for NJACApt, if you think that 2002 hires are senior you are correct, all depends on your own definition. we have differing defs.

Just saying it or thinking it or wishing it will not make it so. Of course the 1108 leadership is telling you it's a slam-dunk. They want the membership to concentrate on the other elements of the IBB because it is a good deal overall for the group. Section 30 is only an option and I don't see it happening.
Hold on there pardner.... I want to make it perfectly clear that the 1108 Leadership has never said or suggested anything of the sort. In fact, the only thing any of them has said on record is that the Single Carrier Petition will be filed in 2008 -- that's it, nothing more. Ease up on the conspiracy theories okay??

We're in 100% agreement on this point.

While speaking on the record, 1108 leadership may not say anything other than the fact they are planning on filing. But the subtext from the EB on down is that it's a done deal. Read any message board or ask any 1108 member on the road and they'll try to convince you it's a slam-dunk. All I'm saying is, thinking or wishing doesn't make it so. The legal case is complicated and the outcome very far from cut and dried.

I just started the following thread: http://airlinepilotforums.com/showthread.php?t=18204

Looks like this isn't a "done deal" as originally rumored.

The quote done deal is from Mr. Olsen. Either it happens in 2010 with consent, or it happens in 2011 without.
I wish it wouldn't happen, now we the over 40K payscale with LX's coming and I'd be happy if the company couldn't extend the contract thru 2016.
But we all know they will
