ASACapt,

Are you a member of flightinfo? If you are, do you go by the same screen name? I was thinking we might reconvene this discussion over there, where they allow pm's. I don't really want to lay out the pros and cons list here.

NetJets has several hundred aircraft on order. Although we periodically sell a few older aircraft, our fleet continues to grow. Flexjet on the other hand, continually rotates new aircraft into the fleet while older planes are rotated out. Their fleet size over the last several years has been approx 80-100 aircraft.

Total aircraft orders for NetJets (Worldwide) has been over 1200 aircraft. Most of which are on order for NJA/NJI.

Current orders are for:
50 G150 (late 2006) Options for 50 more
50 Hawker 4000/Horizon (2007) options for 50 more
50 Sovereigns (currently have +/- 5) options for 50 more
100 Beech 400XPs (currently have +/- 10)
25 Falcon 2000EX (currently 2) Options for 25 more

I wouldn't say corporate or charter is better...........but fractional is.

So NJA Capt, what is the real deal with fractionals?? Those of us on the outside think its just charter getting around the 135 regs to hose crews using part 61??
Do you guy's have duty limits??

There is a HUGE misunderstanding out there about fractionals.
NetJets (previously EJA) has been in business since 1964 and operated B707s, Jetstars, and Falcon 20s under a 121 certificate. Around the same time they "taught" the FAA how to give checkrides in corp jets. We currently operate under a 135 certificate and are looking into re-entering the 121 world.

Pilots at NetJets have always been qualified under Part 135 and endure more recurrent training annually than major airlines. Even when operating part 91, we adhere to part 135 duty and rest rules. 14 hours max duty, 10 hours max flight time in 24 hour period. Minimum 10 hours rest unless fatigued, then it is a min of 14 hours rest (per contract).
