One year left in Navy, questions about Netjets.
I have read a bunch of the other posts and still have a few questions about Netjets if you guys can help.
People have mentioned the "no commuting" thing and someone even posted a list of airports. That list wasn't on Netjet's website though. Are those the airports you can live near? Or can you live anywhere you want? If so, how do you get to work?
How flexible are they on the mins? I am a Navy jet guy who is one year out from my minimum service. Fighter guys don't build hours like heavy guys do. I'll end up with around 1600 - 1700 total military hours. All of it is turbine and all but 75 are jet. Virtually all (about 850) are glass cockpit F/A-18 and that only stopped because as an adversary I now fly pre-glass cockpit F-16s and F-5s.
Netjets lists their mins as 2500 total time, but I meet all of the other requirements easily, just not the total time.
Just want to keep my options open.

Is that time with the added .2 per sortie? They are not flexible with the mins. This is due to insurance and owner contract requirements. I feel your pain when it comes to little flight time in fighters. If it wasn't for my cessna and beechcraft time, I wouldn't have had the mins. I only had 1000 hours military when I went on traditional (part-time) status at my guard unit.

When you are hired, you pick your home base. That is where you will start and finish your trip. The company doesn't care where you live. It's up to you to get yourself to your base in time to go to work.
The bases are listed in the contract--not sure if it's for public dissemination. (I know, it's all over the web). I'm guessing the company will put the list on their website someday.

F16Driver, that does include a .2. Just the way it goes in fighter land. I have virtually no civilian time save for a few Cessna 172 and Piper Warrior hours, but that only adds another 20 or so. I can understand the insurance thing, but it seems odd when I do qualify for all the major airlines, but not a small jet outfit.
OmahaPilot, I did see that list and my local airport is on it so that was cool, but it doesn't look like NetJets will be an option for me. It isn't worth paying for 1000 hours of piston time to meet the requirement.

Netjets does the 1.2 conversion for Squid pilots that will put you around 2000 total time and like someone else previously stated they DON'T budge on the mins at all their owners have a contract that all pilot are ATPs with at least 2500 hours. Better get to the local airport and start renting that 152 or get lost in that viper a few times.

You must be joking
If by Lemoore you mean the place where you are in between two moutain ranges (one being in the top ten on the planet for elevation) that are only about 50 miles away, but can only see them about 5 days a year ...
If by Lemoore you mean the place that is surrounded on all sides by the perennial "worst air quality cities" ...
If by Lemoore you mean the place where the only thing thicker than the smog in summer is the fog in winter ...
Nope, never been there. Yeah, I did the RAG and a fleet tour there.
No kidding though? NetJets allows for a 1.2 conversion meaning I can ADD 1.2 hours to every flight? Or is it 1.2 times my flight time? I know FedEx allows a 0.2 hour addition to every military sortie and Southwest allows a 0.3 addition. If you really mean an additional 1.2 hours per sortie that would more than double my time as so many of my flights average 0.9-1.1 for tactical training.
