Home reserve, anyone?
Am I the only one experiencing an incredibly large number of home reserve days this summer? (I think it's 17 since mid June.) Every rotation since June has had at least one day at home. Three rotations I never left the house.
Almost makes me miss crew meals.......

Go ahead, rub it in why don't you..... CL30, you fly for FX, correct??
I wish I had that problem, I usually get my airline info by 6:00 pm, never fails. At NJ some of the guys from my initial indoc (early 2005 class) seem to do a good amount of home reserve, specially the guys in the Beech Jet and Ultra.......One guy actually calls the company, asking for work, last week he took an airline to Santa Barbara, CA, they didn't use him, 7 days later he went home. I flew 24 hrs last rotation.
I'm sure I wouldn't miss the crew meals if they let me stay home every now and then.....sorry didn't mean to go on a rant

Oh, that's not really a rant.....
I think our Schedule Optimizer (affectionately known by some as the Sodomizer) is biased in favor of using pilots based in the middle of the country (i.e. Dallas). FLL guys seems to get the bulk of the home reserve.
Guess I'll go out to the pool to work on my tan some more.......

I've been having the same problem in the BE-400A at NJA, maybe not 17 days for the summer but I had 2 days at home last month and one tour was airline to TUS for two nights and airline home, never saw an airplane. Ike might get me a few more, we'll see.

Not me, kids. Making a fortune collecting that $1.75 per hour. Fine dining with Air ****z, going to skip my next colonoscopy because there is nothing left in the colon. Even the cancer cells die with the scrambled eggs. Life is good!
