Out of curiosity, what is the smallest plane you fly across to Europe?

See Ya!

Sure SK3, you can ask me a question and I will be more than happy to answer it honestly. The smallest plane flown to Europe (to my knowledge) is the G-200. The Citation X goes across the pond to Hawaii. I do not believe it goes across the Atlantic. I am not in either plane so my info is only from buddies that are in both a/c.

Actually the X does cross the to Europe. Also, by June when there are 10 airframes the 680 Sovereign will be makeing Europe trips as well. The 680 has the legs to go to Hawaii, but not the O2 system. The wau Netjets configured the airplane our O2 bottles will not allow for the plane to make the hawaii trip

That is the first news I have heard of the 680 going across the Atlantic. That's very interesting. My little bird just goes to the carribean so that's the only one I know about. I havent been there long enough to know about all the fleets yet, just what my buddies tell me about the X.

AsaCapt,

If I could, I would like to ask you a few more questions...
As I understand it, you were a Captain at ASA, and now you fly for NJA, possibly right seat.
What made you change path, was it the lack of confidence in ASA, fear of Delta collapsing or just tired of 121?
When I joined my outfit it was the best of very few options, when i got the upgrade i figured i could bypass the regional and pitch for a larger plane, yet reading your posts i wonder if i am after something that does not exist anymore, i good airline job!
I fly to Central and South America, i really enjoy the flying but cannot see myself doing it indefinitly, mainly for the schedule.
I am just wondering about the reasons why you made the choice you made and weather I should re-evaluate my priorities..
Thanks Again

You hit every main point why I left ASA except for one. I was DFW based and commuting to ATL as a junior Capt. By the time you added in my commute to ATL and getting bumped as well as a trip, I was away from home for 6 days and only getting paid for 4. At ASAS, it would take me over 12 years to possibly make 100K on the current contract. At NetJets I could be making $160 and working 4 months out of the year with 12 yrs. Plus at NJ, I dont have to commute. I got the DAL base for NJ and I am positive spaced everywhere. I dont have to deal with the mgmt or bufoonery in ATL anymore. Life is a lot better for me and more importanly my family now.The decision was easy. But that is my perspective. Everyone else's is going to be different.

For you NJ guys, I am a military pilot, and I want to send in my resume. Do you know if there is any kind of hour conversion NJA/NJI uses for military guys? Also if I send it in via e-mail does it expedite the process?

Thumbs up NJ Military conversion

I emailed NJ this same Q and to my great surprise the very next day they emailed me back with the answer. They allow for a .2 per hour, not sortie!

Hey ASACapt,

Have you done all of your training up to A/C training yet? I thought you told me that your FlightSafety training was in March.

Signed,
