Does anyone happen to have any old training manuals from flight safety or some other training facility for the Citation X that they would be willing to part with?

I am no terrorists. I am feeling the same effects you all are. My dad is a pilot for American on the 757 and 767 he was on reserve in New York on 9/11 I and the rest of my family are very fortunate to have not lost him. He has since become a federal flight deck officer and is helping to save lives in preventing such attacks from happening again.

I am fascinated by the Citation X and I enjoy learning about things I like. I am considering getting a degree in aerospace engineering, and the Citation X is one fine example of that. Should you not wish to that is your choice I am just merely requesting so it can be put to use rather than getting dumped in the trash.

Read the whole post he was ripping the guy.

Your best way to get a job flying X's is to not blow all or most of you parents money at Embry Riddle. Spend the money on a decent education in a management background, they'll like that when they want you to be chief pilot on call. Go to your local FBO and learn to fly. Flight instruct at said local flight school. While doing that get your A&P, they'll like that when the plane breaks down on an island in the south caribean. Then get job flying charter at said local airport. Build a lot of time flying a lot of junk and then finally when the Citation XXV is the hot new plane on the market apply at a company flying the old beat up Citation X's and you should be well on your way.

This should take you between 5 and 7 years but it will be worth it.

Honestly there are not any short cuts to getting a job flying citation X's. But don't pour anymore money into the machine they call Embry Riddle. I have flown with a lot of different people and they certainly were not any sharper than anyone else, just the most strapped with student loans.

Good Luck and Good Night

Nick - Great attitude. Focus on your goals like a laser and you will achieve them...or not. I have found that you don't always get what you want...but usually get what you need. One thing, with all jokes aside, is to continue to focus on overcoming the experimental learing forced upon you. There are always people more qualified than you, smarter than you, richer, more connected, etc...One thing that really can work in your favor is excellent written, and verbal communication skills. If someone is looking at resumes and cover letters, the person that is able to articulate a clear and grammatically correct point of view will hold the edge. Also - aviation is awfully big to pigeon-hole yourself to one airplane (even a Citation X which is cool). Some of the neatest, most demanding airplanes you will ever see have radial engines and a small castor under the tail called a "tailwheel". Point is this - at your age - explore the entire field and really examine all of the cool things that aviation offers.

Just my two cents.

Thanks all for the useful information

My dad is a Pilot for AA flying the 757 and 767 he had prior law enforcement training and was one of the first sent to New Mexico for training to carry guns in the cockpit and has been doing so for some time now he has a 40. cal colt I think it is so if there are any real terrorist who are looking on this sight think twice before entering the cockpit

My dad has been around the block after getting his ppl and so on he was flying charter in 310s and 210s while working on his A&P he went on to fly some 3500 hr on 185s on floats all over the US then on to eastern metro after it went belly up he went on to Simmons airlines which became American eagle and then about 6-7 years ago they had a flow through program to American and has been flying for them since and has been through it all from flying people to the most remote places on small lakes, shutting down an engine on a twin otter, being hijacked on a jet stream, and fixing a 767 in the Caribbean

I plan on flying a large variety of aircraft at this point I would like to end up flying the X but as time goes on that may change but I need a plan as to which to go buy I think of it as my checklist. I have been working at an Aircraft shop for 6 months now and my dad and I are rebuilding a Cessna 210M on I guess I am he is just coming by and looking over my work but it will be a nice plane to get the rest of my ratings in.

I then said "oh, sorry, the Citation X". They understood after that.

Sorry if this question has already been asked but what is the junior equipment that most new hires are assigned to at netjets? Also how long would it normally take to upgrade form new hire equipment to f/o in a citation x?
