So then the X side is not really a home every night kinda of operation? Was kinda getting that from some reading, but maybe not accurate.

For the X side:
Used to be home every night. Not anymore. Not unheard of to spend your entire 8 days of rotation on the road. (Hope you like Oakland!)

It is definitely getting better and management/scheduling is actively working to remedy the issue though - strides are definitely being made.

Right now it is common to see 50ish% of a rotation away from base but there are still people doing closer to 90% away from base on rare occasions. We are definitely past the worst of it though and now improving consistently but I doubt we will see home every night anytime soon or ever again.

Still not a bad place to hang your hat for a while. Was there for two years and flew both sides. Still a lot of things I miss about that place, despite it changing quite a bit over the last year and a half.

What are the odds nowadays for a quick upgrade (30 days or less) for someone that has 1000+ hours of PIC time in type on the X side? I’m assuming that now that X has been around for 2+ years, a bunch of FOs that got hired with low time are now hitting upgrade mins. Any info of those prospects?

Also, how often are classes being held and how is seniority ranked in training? Age? Last 4 of social? Thanks!

They just had a class of DEC finish, one of them being the old inc chief pilot who came back. For the most part everyone comes in as a FO. Seniority from when I was there was age based, but there was only one other person hired with me.

30 days or less... Slim to none. Class seniority is by age
