I'll be hitting minimums soon, and was wondering if they're hiring people with the min qualifications, or they're only hiring people with more time. I have time at a regional and now some TPIC at a 135 outfit.

You will stay on whatever aircraft you are hired onto, depends on need at time of being hired. But like i said, Citation is running a little over a year for upgrade. It is one of the best 135 companies i have worked for, very good quality of life on the road and great chief pilot office that has your back.

Is there a list of approved airports for home basing or is there just a general rule like service by 3 or more carriers?

No official list, but i do know they don't really hire out of the Northwest for some reason. Pretty much any major city with plenty of airline service, they shy away from smaller cities due to higher ticket prices involved and limited capacity.

Thanks for the info. It's good to hear that you feel it's one of the better 135 companies. 8/6 is a good schedule for me and I'd like to get back to flying jets. Do you have to live within a certain distance from base? For me, if I'm only commuting a couple of times per month, I'd rather just drive 1.5 or 2 hours to get to a large airport as opposed to living near it.

That would be fine...we have several that do the same.

Just need to catch your flight or grab a rental car if you need to drive to aircraft by the specified time given in your brief which you receive the evening before you start your rotation.

Thanks Smooth and dirtysidedown!

XOJet really sounds like a good fit for me. Fingers crossed that I hear from HR.

Passed the technical and onto the in-person interview sometime this month. Heard it's pretty relaxed and mainly TMAAT questions. I'm assuming this is still the case? No sim ride, correct?

I interviewed last summer and yes it was mostly TMAAT with HR. The last board of the day was with two line pilots, one 300 CA and one X CA. They asked if I had ever had an emergency and how I handled it. If you ever busted a ride etc.... Be yourself and you will be fine. Relax at dinner the night before and try to have some questions for the XO folks sitting around you. Have a beer not 10. If you get in and have a good attitude you will love it at XO. Hands down the best 135 job I have ever had. Good luck!
