Does Frontier provide the hotel during training yet?

Frontier pays monthly minimum guarantee (75 hours) from day 1 of training based on first year hourly pay rates ($39.11/hr). Pay days are the 5th and the 20th where your gross compensation will be for 1/2 of the monthly guarantee on each check.

As far as I know, Frontier still is not paying for lodging/hotel during new hire training.

im curious about the paid lodging during training. I've heard it is no longer being considered, and that it's the union who put a stop to it. I did not hear it directly but it was told this info was from a pilot, not management.
If true, why wouldn't Alpa want something that would benefit new members.

It’s my guess that until there’s a new contract, it doesn’t benefit ALPAs position to incentivize new hires to come to F9

Chief pilot in ground school mentioned it was something they want to tie into the new contract. So I wouldn’t expect it anytime soon until they can’t fill classes. They’re planning on small classes (4 and 10 I think) in June/July so I wouldn’t plan on it if you are thinking about coming here.

Why? It is a contractural agreement, and currently it is not in our contract. Paid lodging during training is a clear benefit and it is something that none of the other pilots here were able to enjoy. If suddenly the company goes outside the contract and provides this to new pilots, what about all the pilots before them? Thats where we would file a group grievance to each be compensated appropriately. What about pilots who are based in Denver and are going to recurrent training, why no hotels for them? ALPA didn't necessarily put a stop to it, they just told the company what would need to be done to allow it, paying every pilot here for money lost when they should have had a hotel. The company doesn't feel that benefit is worth the cost at this time.

Don't get me wrong, all the pilots here are all for new hires having lodging being taken care of during training. This is just something that needs to be included in the new contract. If the company wants it, put it in the new contract and give us something we can vote in.

Could a signing bonus be offered directly by the company, or would the union need to agree to this as well? Just curious.

Every regional in the country does this, and the unions couldn't stop them.

I think in part, it's because "status quo" cuts both ways.

Pretty sure a signing bonus is just that. A bonus...theoretically could be given to any employee.

But given where we are in negotiations, I think the company is avoiding it simply because it would again make their bargaining tactics look worse in the eyes of the NMB.

Give large sums to attract new pilots, but don't want to pay pilots on property a slightly BELOW industry average wage?
