Am I the only one that sees the dark irony in congratulating our labor groups for pointing out how unsafe our airline has become?
It’s not our participation percentages that have increased, but instead it’s the snowballing amount of serious safety issues. We’re going to kill some people, it’s Allegiant 2.0. Operating just barely within the visible confines of the law, primed for a major accident.
The message from the ASAP manager in the latest Frontier safety beacon publication:
“A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE!
Thank you to everyone who has participated in ASAP this
year! We are very appreciative of the amazing amount of sup-
port we have had thus far from our Pilots, Flight Attendants,
Dispatchers, Mechanics, and Maintenance Controllers in the
effort to address critical safety issues.
Reporting rates have significantly increased in compari-
son to last year’s reporting rate for all four employee groups.
In comparing the 12-month rate in 2017 to the 8-month rate
for this year, Maintenance has had the largest increase in
ASAP reports per 10,000 flights with an increase of 128%,
followed by dispatch 64%, Pilots 59%, and Flight Attendants
54%. The overall reporting rate for all ASAPs have in-
creased by 76% since last year! This is great news as every
report provides valuable information that may not otherwise
be obtainable.“

I haven't read it yet, but if that's from Eman, shes great, and on our side 100%.
Remember, the FAA sees all the ASAPs, and if were reporting the dumb stuff the company is doing, the FAA is seeing it too.
Besides, we all mess things up, just because reporting is up, doesnt mean any more stuff is actually happening that is really really dangerous.

I agree she's on our side. She wants everything to be an ASAP to get the company's attention so I bet many are for unanswered station calls, how the VOL 2 revision was implemented, pilots who received letters for calling in sick, etc.

128% increase in ASAP reports by maintenance control. Yeah you’re right, they’re just suddenly choosing to participate in filling out ASAP reports. All those maintenance control guys that walked away from their jobs during a short period recently, coincidence. The director of Maintenance resigning, coincidence. Keep telling yourself all is well. Does your head feel moist? Is it dark there?

I think you’re noticing something about corporate culture that chaps my hide as well... everything is a positive. Every memo, every press release is a carefully constructed spin of positivity even where none should be found.
Start looking around and you’ll see it everywhere.
The irony is that in most situations just addressing a problem would benefit a company much more than deflecting.

They reap what they sow. Screw em. They aren’t doing us any favors. So why should this not be out there? It also happen to be the truth.
