Uhhh I don't know if you're trolling or not but you're way off base. This is causing major ripples globally, please tell the guy/gal the sky is falling that put their 2 weeks in to start class here, or United, or Delta and then told class is canceled. This effects real people, with families and children. You think it's bad now, just wait until headlines are 100k infected, 1000s dead. If you're not trolling you're an absolute moron for thinking things will be back to normal after 2 months. This will hurt the economy for min 1 year.

We can all read the news about KLM, Delta, AA retiring 757/76, etc...again please tell all those people the sky is falling boo hoo. What a douche...

Gotta agree with you on this one. This is unprecedented whether warranted or not, and it won't be back to normal anytime soon. I think 1 year is way too optimistic; I do realize you said minimum.

Dude... you need to swallow your pride on this and just admit you're wrong. Peoples lives are being destroyed whether the virus is real or not. Bartenders, waiters, people who rely heavily on sporting events to attract customers now cant make rent. Now the landlord (which are a lot of pilots) are stuck paying a mortgage. Schools in my area are closed for 30 days. Low income families whose kids rely on free breakfast and lunch, no longer have access to that. Both parents may work who now have to decide what to do.

The trickle down effect is huge. Museums, sporting events, any large gathering now closed. Now people aren't taking uber or lyft, or going to eat or drink. Travel (our industry) obviously you know the problem there. Families not being able to feed their kids or pay rent as a decision. Like....my mind just cant understand how you can be so ignorant.

This is media created doom and gloom. When they find something else to blow up, then the dust will settle. While I do agree this is screwing a ton of stuff up, it won’t be like that for long. No need to lose your mind over it. That’s enough talking for me. Y’all can continue buying all the **** tickets up. Carry on...

You just have a lack of understanding of the basic science behind what's going on.

While you may not be in a particularly affected age group, many, many people are. The elderly and those with comorbidities are at real risk from this disease.

So while it might not affect you if you go to the movies or a concert and get it, you can spread it, even without symptoms, to those people that it's a real danger to. THAT is why social distancing and isolation are important right now. It's not about you; it's about all of us.

And unfortunately, that has a massive economic impact on the global economy. And that economy is what allows people to travel, take vacations, and spend money on airline tickets.

Exactly.

Reminded me of someone who also "thought" this was a hoax and had a "hunch" this would all go away in a couple of weeks...well, it didn't... and the bogus "hunch" caused a lot of damage...

I honestly wish those of you who had tendered your resignation in can rescind it and after things calm down you can join us here once again. Best of luck.

Also, could May 01 turn into Jun 01, in otherwords, should I just not give another quit date? Thanks.
I’m kind of in the same situation here, I have only received an email saying a recruiter would contact me with an update and a voicemail from a recruiter saying he wanted to give me an update on the April class, have tried returning the call a couple of times as requested but to know avail. Still nothing officially saying class is canceled, kind of nerve wracking. Let me know if you hear anything and I’ll do the same.
