The company created this issue when they changed vol 1 cass language. Pilots dequaled on colas that didn’t live in a city served by f9 and now they weren’t in cass. It’s kind of hard to hold Ual responsible for that imo. I’m fairness the company’s hands might have been tied by the faa? I believe they were but I don’t know for sure.

Frontier is pulling out of LAX by september, hence the move to Burbank and larger presence in Ontario.

Don’t fret if you enjoy LAX though. At the rate we pull out of airports and go back in, I’m sure we’ll be back there after a one month hiatus.

Hard to believe.

Leaving LAX is not what I saw coming. ONT better work out well for us!

Same. Full planes year after year. Including 1 AM to Denver. That said, this company has been spot on from day one so I guess we’ll let them make the call, we just haul.

I'm sure it's all about airport fees. LAX probably has very high landing and gate fees. ONT is probably nearly free in comparison

Isn't Burbank closer to many of the tourist attractions anyway?

I would think that the "LAX passengers" are simply going to board at different airports now. maybe even some closer to home

but what do I know

Closest to Universal Studios and Hollywood.
Closest to Six Flags Magic Mountain (not sure that's really a vacation destination)

John Wayne is closest to
Disneyland

John Wayne and Long Beach are about the same distance to Knotts Berry Farm.

Ontario is probably the best airport for an LCC to operate in/out of in the LA basin. Lower cost, much looser noise restrictions, better weather (they don't have as much low vis problems as the other LA airports), don't have short runways or tight parking.

I would venture to guess that most “LAX passengers” are international travelers and will generally book the same airline into/out of
LAX that they are traveling internationally on, or at least on a code share partner airline.

I know SWA doesn’t conform to that thinking, but they are very large at LAX and have been there a long time in addition to a large presence at SNA and BUR.
