BB put out a video on Docunot yesterday praising how well DFW is doing . He was standing in front of a Buc ees? Rather amusing, I’ve Always enjoyed his sense of humor. One interesting point is that actual F9 mechanics have transferred down for the new maintenance facility. Only bases I know with F9 mechanics are Denver and PHX. Every other base is outsourced right ? I think they may be moving the HQ down there.

I’tll be interesting to see how AA responds in their fortress hub,,,,, Spirit has been struggling there for sometime. I’m sure it’s not from the airport authorities giving them a hard time.

Our VP said similar things about midway being a money maker. Then SW noticed our presence and became real competitive. Our VP then backtracked that statement.

How much are they in debt right now? Over 50B? I'm too lazy to look it up but I can't imagine them getting a loan to do anything about it.
I guess there are more "subtle" things they could do (like Delta tried) involving local congressman/etc.

AA announced their plans to pay down $15 billion of their debt by 4Q2025. That is about half of their current debt, and would put them below where DAL and UN are today. DAL and UN are going to have to start their fleet renewal process that AA pretty well went through pre-COVID.

Well I mean I’m not talking about AA bribing congressmen or anything shady like that. I’m saying they will slash prices on competing routes, even going so far as to lose money on those competing routes. This along with higher frequency of routes is what makes us less viable to customers. That’s usually how it works in airline turf wars.

That's a profit of over $1B per quarter for 11 straight quarters. Difficult to sustain but not impossible I guess. Very lofty goal.
Good on em if they can but that only puts them about where everyone else is now.

I can tell you that I've been here for a year and a half and didn't get it first round. It's gone pretty senior from what I've seen. One of the captains that I know has been here 7-8 years and he's middle of the pack on the captain side in DFW.
