So, let's understand something...

The billboards are attempts to sway public opinion (stock holders) into inquiring to management and perhaps be concerned about treatment of their labor groups. For a company that cares about stock price, it may be effective.

I think there are much more important (and perhaps effective) ways to use union funds for our purposes.

Thats the only leverage we have and the odds are not in our favor. We have almost zero leverage right now. Flying is covered and hiring is covered. Attrition is down due to the legacies slowing hiring and new hires are now in training contracts and don’t have enough total time to leave for a legacy. We have 30+ planes of growth in 2025 that can possibly help our position but we can’t even fill the planes we do have with passengers now. I’d expect deferred deliveries next year and a contract realistically middle to end of 2026 if we play our cards right.

We are still losing ~25-30ish a month. I lost 5 in front of me and 4 behind me in the last week.

But yeah, fill the airline with enough 1000hr pilots and they wont be able to go anywhere for at least a year.

I refuse to think these guys will defer any aircraft. They already extended the 8 year leases to 12.
I also think that as soon as Boeing gets their crap together (big if) the legacies/sw will hire in big numbers again next year. Boeing is the only reason there's been a slow down. Summer slow downs are normal for all hands on deck summer schedules.

So what is the company going to do when they are left with SJU CA vacancies on this recent bid? Shrink/displace other bases some more to fill it?

I don't think that'll be the case. I'm about 14 mos. on property and just to see how things are looking I ran a what if bid with a SJU CA vacancy and it didn't award it to me. That tells me there won't be any unfilled vacancies.

From asking around, people not that far ahead of you (including myself) in seniority that are able to hold it on the "what if" are only checking to see what they're able to hold without any intention of leaving the bid in. The other issue is that while you may have the 121 time required to upgrade, a lot of people at <14 months seniority do not just because this is their first airline so it'll be an issue sooner than later, if not on this bid.

The only reference I can find so far is 24.E.3. It looks like it would go to new hire pilots similar to what UA currently offers. But after that I can find no reason to prohibit the company from imposing involuntary upgrades. Somebody correct me if I’m wrong.
