Probably not large ones like we just saw.
Let’s say they hire 40 per month starting in March until the end of the year (400). If they make each new base as large as CHI they could easily staff 3 brand new bases without further displacements. If they are as small as CVG you could staff 4. If it’s the smaller base size we could staff a new base every two-three months.
So with your example of possible San Juan we could fill the remaining CHI, CVG, CLE by then end of April and by then end of June the staffing is already there for SJU.

So, the growth plans are a problem in 3 facets - aircraft, personnel and gates. The aircraft problem is handled somewhat - as long as the P&W debacle escapes us (which I've heard it won't). Personnel will trickle in and out and slow growth should continue. The REAL issue is gates. The FO is realizing they've been stonewalled at the places they really wanna be (Den, DFW, ATL) and are having to open bases all over - mostly at airports abandoned by Big 3 in the past - to grow. I can imagine we might start looking at St Louis, New Orleans, Portland or even Albq or retry an Austin push.
I'm not sure if this thinking is smart (and will be successful) or just desperate.

We don't have a seat lock, right? I could totally see CAs that just upgraded, turn around and go back to FO instead of being sent to SJU.

Not sure I'm going to be racing to upgrade but def still leaning on going to SJU if I can hold it out of training. There or MIA.

I'll look it up tomorrow but I think we do have a 2 year seat lock with the exception that if they displace you out of your domicile you can downgrade to FO in order to not get displaced.
