Why Are We Still Not Wearing Our Lanyards?

Frontier’s pay rates are trailing the industry by more than 40%. First officers at our peer airlines are earning more than our captains. When you compare our contract, we fall behind in nearly every work rule.
The Union has asked us to do one simple thing: wear our lanyards.
So why are some pilots still refusing to wear them?
I get it—they’re ugly, they stand out, and they get people’s attention. But that’s the point. We need to inform the public that we make 40% less than our peers and that, at the first chance of a strike, we will be walking off the job. Booking with Frontier means putting their vacation at risk.
With the strike vote open, it’s time to stand unified!

I have to disagree. If your loyalty to a sports team is more important than a $100,000 pay gap, you seriously need to reconsider your priorities. In my opinion, every single pilot should be wearing the orange lanyard. And if given the opportunity, we should be explaining to passengers that we’re being exploited by management and will exercise our right to strike the moment we can.

Just out of curiosity, how are you basing your assessment of 40% behind your peers? In comparing Frontier to Sun Country, Allegiant, and the regionals, you don't really seem to be that far behind.

Because it's silly and doesn't make one bit of difference?
inform the public that I only made $257,000 last year? I can see them protesting in front of indigo once they learn of the horror. The public would burn the place down until I make $400,000, after they pay their $99 bag fee of course.

This pilot group is fighting against management's idea of an ULCPilot. It sounds like you're in support of it. I hope you aren't one of ours.

It’s time for Brad and Barry to step up and pay us what we deserve.
We’re flying Airbus A320s and A321s with 240 seats. A $100 per hour raise, spread across 240 seats, comes out to just 41 cents per seat per hour.

Most pilots agree the lanyards send a soft message and look lame. Hopefully the union can correct that and send out something with a punch.
