The difference is RJ captains get way more experience building their 1000 hours sic due to the nature of their flying. Four legs of flying a day verse our two. Our company cheaps out on training and it will come back to bite us eventually.

Where have you been? Plenty of 4 leg flying going around at F9.

Does anyone know which of the junior bases are better for commuters? Or should I say are the least awful? Like as far as fewest day trips, crash pad availability etc? Thanks!

Truth is, there are a few good credit 2, 3, and 4 days in every base, but they go senior. The rest are redeyes and min credit.

It's also a very SILLY question - if you know anything about F9 - because the ONE sure thing about F9 is that the company is constantly changing. So, asking about commuting situations on company aircraft is a total crapshoot. If you're inquiring about on a different airline, it's actually kind of simple. F9 participates in Jumpseating so, no matter where you live in CONUS, if there is an airport with major airline service, you can probably jumpseat to just about anywhere (even overseas) depending on the date and time.
Go to Expedia or Travelocity or each specific airline website to check routes/dates/times. Asking about specific (or even general) viability on here is silly w/o noting a specific city pair.
For crashpads - go to Crashpad411.com.
For junior F9 bases, the aforementiond FFT pilots website above has the lastest info.
Don't let APC be the extent of your research...
