I wasn’t satisfied with the answer so I got it fixed.
In some cases you might need to let the pbs folks know that you’re available for the 7 days so they can get you into the navblue data base for bidding. Once you let them know in writing (so there’s no he said she said) it’s a contract violation if not adhered to. It will be adhered to as I’ve never seen a dispute for that. There has been disputes for returning from various loa’s with regards to bidding but not training. Training dates change and the time it takes for oe can vary widely. Personally I would have been looking at that way before now.

It is BS because you will always miss a month if you are on leave and end up on a month of reserve with no choice in picking days off even if you would normally be #1 in base. You should be able to pick window + X number of "golden" days or something where they cannot schedule you and the rest is fair game.

Also LOA 33, sections 25.AI and 26.E may be useful to determine eligibility

So I was on a leave of absence and never ended up on res. How is that possible with what you just mentioned? Your mixing return to work with 25.F. Basically what you said is incorrect.

You’re number last in domicile and you should be able to pick the window and the days and potentially get a long call even though your seniority couldn’t do that had you bid. Works both ways.

I’ll save you the searching. The only real way to end up on res when returning from a leave is coming back last min or dequaling and needing training. Even with that it’s possible you won’t be on res.

on a separate note but related 13.I.15.b.ii. Is a bit of a problem. That number (45) days didn’t exist last agreement. It was infinite. It needs to be reduced again to max of 30.

I came off of STD leave, was able to bid on Aug 3rd, for September, but was still on Res all of Aug. My only saving grace was dequaling landings and then needing to go back to the sim, they couldnt get me in for like a week and a half, so I only ended up actually being on reserve for 10 days of the month (2 weekends), but if I didn't dequal (flew the originally scheduled 3 legs on my original first callout on day 1 of my bucket), then I would have done like 16 reserve days over every single weekend.

so you came back short notice. You were available more than 7 days in August and should have bid for August had you given notice of your return date prior to the August bid closing. Like I said there are ways to end up on res coming back from a leave. You either didn’t review return to work (to give notice) or came back with a bit of bad timing. Either way after a bid closes there’s nothing to give you but res. You want an ability that doesn’t exist outside of 25.F. I wouldn’t really call that bs and I’m not looking to do anything with that language. I can pretty much guarantee nobody went to that and said it was bs last time around.
The language that needed fixing was the fact the company could keep you from a paycheck indefinitely if you dequaled. 13.I.

Not here to poo all over your question or sass you, but I send a Scheduling Committee DART probably once every few months and they typically answer me in less than an hour and a few hours at most. Never had them lead me astray or give me a confusing answer.

Yup. I just got a copy. It should be available shorty in docunet. Basically you’ll bid based on a projected training completion date so the only way to end up on res with training is if you can’t hold a line based on seniority. Then you’ll hold a res schedule based on seniority.
