I suppose the investigation will reveal a LOT - as in, who dropped the guy off (or did he leave his car parked by the side of the road)? How did he time the run to coincide w/ the incursion? Was there any sort of instrument/weapon/etc in his hand or does it appear to just be an attempted suicide?
I'm often somewhat hesitant to lump simple silliness and/or mental illness into the terrorism bucket but this one is interesting...

Not saying it's definitely not terrorism, it could be just a really lame attempt at that. A little bit of google would show you that pilots train routinely for V1 cuts

We don't train for when the perpetrator (now well done) not only takes out the engine, but the fire bottle discharge nozzles was well.
I'm not saying that's what happened (we don't know yet), but what if it did? Bipedal ingestion -> engine fire -> ????

The kid should have counted, 100% their fault. The guy on the runway should not count, 100% not F9's fault and likely intentional.... that's not an "accident".

Interesting read from a pax perspective, not only the initial accident but also the followup. Makes you think about stuffing your pockets with wallet, keys, cell phone, etc.

I am not convinced this was a suicide attempt.
If you watch the IR surveillance video from DIA, the guy is casually walking across the runway...no sense of urgency...not running towards the plane. In my opinion, to do so at night and hit either the engine or the landing gear, he would have to have an extraordinary sense of timing and depth perception. Granted, I have zero idea, whatsoever, what the cone of danger is for sucking in a human on that engine at takeoff power. I wonder if he (she) was just stoned out of his mind and wandering around the airport or was a thrill-seeker who wanted to see how close he could get to an airplane rolling for takeoff (kind of like playing chicken with a freight train, which, believe it or not, was actually a thing where I grew up).
