PS. 2011 might be a stretch.

I am mostly upset about the precedent it set. It is not ok to pay a professional pilot of a 100+ seat jet aircraft $30,000 a year. Frontier had one of the reasonable starting wages in the industry, but now they are down in the cellar with everyone else. The fact is that current Frontier pilots sold out future new hires.

As fireman so eloquently pointed out last time we had this discussion, United pilot went on strike in 1985 when management proposed a B-scale for new hires. I guess times have changed. Now Frontier management is getting their own pilots to defend this B-scale! Why not cut 12th year captain pay by a few bucks an hour to fund the B fund?? Not everyone will have to get 12th year captain pay, but EVERYONE will go through 1st year FO pay.

Or better yet, how about keeping the old pay rates (because they were higher) and asking for a B fund in addition! That would just be crazy talk.

There was an article around Feb. 27th 2007 about airline in Denver doing a price comparison. I think the average Frontier price had dropped 60% since the year before. They were undershooting the everyone by a fat margin. It's no wonder they have no money to play with. Trying to run Southwest out of the area.

30k a year is much better than what cal pays their first year fo's and they could be flying bigger aircraft like the 757

I have no problem with Frontier cutting first year pay (yes easy for me to say, I don't work there), I have no real problem with low first year pay anywhere. What matters is first, second and so on. The long term are the years that really matter.

I'm embarrassed to argue this point but CAL pays 30 an hr to new hires then royally screws them by not giving insurance for the first 6 months.

APC shows that Frontier is still hiring...is that the case? I can't seem to find a link of the company website showing hiring mins or if they are conducting interviews.
