I'm not buying the 150 app thing.
I spoke with a guy who interviewed on 2/18 and they only hired 8 out of 15. If it is true - and they have to start hiring every warm body that walks in - well there goes our stellar pilot group. |

I agree! No way this is true. If F9 is freaked out about running out of people to hire, why are they still sending nearly 50% of those interviewing packing?

I find it hard to believe they only have 150 qualified apps. Surprising for sure. Anyone getting calls without a job fair these days?

Don't shoot the messenger, but the 150 competitive apps came straight out of the recruiters mouth. I don't think they are quite in crisis mode yet since the plan from what I know is to hire 200-250 this year. So with the apps on file and interviews being doled out at the job fairs F9 is ok for now..........but my take was that they were concerned about the near future not having enough qualified people to hire.
But this is very, very interesting, and in such a short time. 1 year ago when I came through they said they had over 3000 apps on file. Well I can tell you one thing. Frontier is making A LOT of money. Hopefully they won't want to risk losing any of their momentum by facing a staffing/operational crisis. What I'm saying is hopefully this will translate into an early contract opener for an equitable contract. Appreciate the reports - keep the info flowing. |

I went through ground school not too long ago, and the 3000 number sounds very familiar. That said, those apps are duped at every airline in existence.

That I believe.
My point is that I think we (everybody?) puts a lot of weight into the face-to-face meeting. It's a great way to get an interview, but short of guaranteed. |

LibertyPilot and I have discussed this whole prior 121 time thing at length. Quite frankly, I think it's a bunch of bs. I guess you have to play the game though. While I realize military gets a pass. Have you heard how much 121 time they woukd like to see?
