Gramps, lol. Sorry not old enough for that. Wasn't that interested in your "education" and misread one of your put down threads. You would think that with a masters, you would be doing better than your $66k especially in California. You still paying back those student loans or did mom and dad hand you it all?
Me embarrassed? You are too funny.

Are you sure you're not interested? You've been doing a lot of research into my previous posts. I'm sure if you look at your account you'll see I've done zero research on you.

I don't live in California.

And no I pay my loans, like most adults.

Why work two jobs when I don't need to? Maybe when I get on with FedEx or a Legacy, I'll think about using my master's to teach. Then get my PhD on the side.

Ok big boy. Good luck. Hope your self esteem improves after you are done ripping on everyone every day.

Company rep was upfront about the training contract, and wanted to make sure I was aware of first year pay. Also told me upgrade was 2 yr (didn't believe it), and offered me an interview in 2 weeks. Assuming worst case, (stagnation, and no contract for several years) it would take me to yr 6 FO just to get back to what I'm making now at a narrow body supplemental. I REALLY want to be able to get in on a good thing, but not sure I can endure the financial pain in the interim. The saying "if if's and but's were candy and nuts, we'd all be happy at Christmas" keeps popping into my head.

The last upgrade class had four open positions in DEN so it was the junior person was I think about 10 years. Look just a few pages back and someone posted the number of pilots who have bypassed (I think it's somewhere around 100). If F9 opens a west coastish base next year (LAS or PHX) you'll probably see a lot of those bypasses taking the upgrade whereas commuting to ORD or MCO they wouldn't.

I can only speak for my individual case, but on reserve in ORD you can plan on taking home a sub-2k paycheck (per month) your first year. And right now reserve in ORD is more than a year. I think you'll fly a little more in DEN and work for less than $2/hr (duty) for your time. A little per-diem goes a long way at this pay level.

If you're prepared to endure the first year things will get better. I know I'll get some pushback for this, but here it goes: a lot of people here think we are in our dark days and are optimistic that better things are ahead. I don't think coming here is a slam-dunk either way as you really have to boil it down to your own individual situation.

The RLA process is excruciatingly painful - hang in there

Jesus, I hope you guys get a new contract fast.... That's an embarrassment to all pilots everywhere when an A320 pilot is being paid sub $2k per month! I know that it's first year but good lord, time to get with the times!

Looks like Indigo Partners intends to start another ULCC project in Canada (Calgary). I wonder if they need to free up some capital? Maybe an Initial Public Offering? Got to strike while the iron is hot, the new foreign investor exemptions are now in play up north.

My gut is telling me that our aircraft orders won't all make it to F9.

Exactly. I'm very skeptical of our orders. We have a hard enough time keeping our schedules straight as it is.

I had that thought as well. Initially I wrote off that thought because Enerjet (soon to be "FlyToo") operates 737s, but then I realized they currently operate ONE 737 (in total); which makes their fleet choice a bit more flexible!

Indigo won't be needing all those new Airbii for Frontier once the sale to Southwest is completed. The Airbus aircraft will be transferred to their Canadian operation. (as long as we are speculating!).

Indigo will be buying back or reacquiring Airbus aircraft from Southwest as they are replaced with Boeings.
