That's a weird response? He's helping our cause but you treat it like you don't care

I’ve had multiple opportunities to take another corporate job and make decent money again but I’ve decided to go for the airlines this time even if it might take flying for a regional for awhile.

After looking at APC and reading the forums, never once have I seriously considered even applying for F9. I just don’t understand why someone would. Just the simple fact that they won’t put you up in a hotel for training alone sends a message to me that I wouldn’t be respected as a professional. WTH are they thinking? I mean the company AND people who apply there. It makes me sick thinking about it.

I might, maybe might consider applying if you guys get a solid contract but then I’d potentially be flying for a management group that appears to have no respect for their pilots. It just makes me sick.

Thanks man we respect your decision to stay away.

In a round about way he insulted all Frontier pilots (unless your hotel was paid for when you were a new hire) by saying “WTH are they thinking?”

I get his point and I’m not offended, but I can see how someone (even someone who’s been here for 15+ years) might be.

I also appreciate his willingness to stay away.

You're right, but his post was very disrespectful and unnecessary to describe the thought of applying here making him 'sick'. Hes unemployed currently....

He could have just said, "I wont apply here until a new contract is ratified"

I have argued on this forum many times that I don't want people to apply here until a contract is voted in.

I didn’t intend any disrespect. Everyone has their reasons for applying. If that’s what they really want then so be it. I wouldn’t hold it against someone if they have a good reason for applying. If you live in Denver for example and you’re unemployed or it’s a clear step up(despite the low pay).

What makes me sick is that management can get away with not paying for hotels and such low compensation. Yes, it also makes me sick that they’re still able to fill classes despite this. It’s really frustrating to see it go on like this for so long in this business.

When I heard news that regionals were cancelling flights due to the shortage of qualified pilots I felt a real sense of justice. So many of my friends have worked so hard for so long and for so little and finally the tide was starting to turn. We’re finally starting to see a little bit of progress but there’s still a long way to go.

I just want to see the pilots at F9 get a solid contract, not just because they deserve it but because it will raise the bar.

I’m not applying because it simply doesn’t make sense at the moment. My other options are looking like they’re better. If you applied whether it’s recently or years ago, I don’t have an issue with you. Obviously it made sense at the time for you. You had or have your reasons. I wish you all luck.

Once voted in, will Frontier provide hotels to new hires?

It won’t be voted in so please stay away until we see something worthwhile to vote.

Mugatu, you think the MEC or LEC will stop it? Or it gets past them and we have to stop it?

I know you didn’t ask me but I think the MEC will likely vote it in UNLESS they hear from an overwhelming majority how displeased we are. That’s unlikely though as most are too lazy to email even if they’re disappointed.

If the pilots have to vote I expect it will pass after the sell job that the MEC, NC, and ALPA National put on this thing. Lots of people will say they’re not happy about it but will accept it anyway. “It beats waiting another year” they’ll say as they justify cementing themselves at the bottom of the industry in almost every single aspect of the contract.
